Friday afternoon, Ty's mom and I attempted to create some Elmo cupcakes. We wanted to have a practice round, before Karson's party so we could see what we liked best, the big eyes, or smaller eyes, frosting for a nose, or an oval jelly bean, or a round orange candy, and what kind of mouth to do. I used a black gel frosting thing, but next time I won't be using black gel, but black frosting. I also found a cute orange candy that will be perfect for the nose, the big eyes I like best.
This little guy is my favorite one, I like how he turned out, we got the frosting to work and the Elmo fur looks pretty dang good to me! I am no good at bake decorating...cakes, cookies, cupcakes, I have never been good at that kind of stuff, but when I saw Karson's eyes light up and he exclaimed " Elmo! Elmo! " and just wanted me to hold him up so he could see them, it made it all worth it, my cupcakes may not be perfect, but my son knows what they are and loves them!
Thanks Kay for your help! I am excited to make these again and I know they will turn out perfect!
