Crazy Life....

Sunday we decided to take a drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Silver Lake and eat a picnic lunch. It was a bit colder up there than we expected, but it felt great to be outside in the fresh air. Karson was loving life, looking around and exploring. I can't wait to take him camping next year, he will love it.
As always I love seeing the beautiful fall leaves change colors! It's so gorgeous!

Kaili eating her staple, cheese, mayo and bread sandwich, silly girl. She harldy eats any meat now days, I would almost call her a vegetarian. She loves dairy products though so she will never give those up. Funny story. Lately when we have had Kaili she has been waking up quite a bit throughout the night. It is really hard, because every time she wakes up, she wakes up Karson, and we all go with out a lot of sleep. This weekend was no exception, if not worse. She would get out of bed every couple of hours, tell us she needs something, and then say " she doesn't remember what she needs" Sunday morning Tyler and I were SPENT, I told her that we needed a plan for her to stay in bed. So later that night like 6 hours after I had said that, when we were in the car and she goes " So mom have you thought of a plan yet?" and I was like what, and she goes " you know for keeping me in bed". Ha, I thought that was soo funny.

Cutie Pie Karson. Poor guy, he has a had a cold since last Tuesday! His shots did a number on him this time. Which by the way he weighs 27.6 pounds, is 32 1/2 inches long and is in the 86% for height and weight.
My Grandma McDermott " Daddy-Daddy" passed away last Tuesday. He had been struggling from a stroke for 6 1/2 years. He was a great man, and I am honored to be his grand-daughter. He gave so much service throughout his life, he was known as Mr. Christmas in his neighborhood. He never judged anyone and loved all kinds of people. I have missed him for a long time, but have fond memories of him. My mom made the above Christmas tree in his honor, it was so cute, ( sorry it's upside down, forgot to switch it). The viewing was on Friday night, and the funeral was on Saturday. Saturday was A LONG day. Karson was SOOO tired and didn't feel good, so you can imagine how that went. It's really cool, because my Grandpa is buried really close to Easton. The funeral was really good, and they had bagpipes playing through out the services. Below is what I wrote in the guest book online at Deseret News
Dear Grandma,
Daddy-Daddy was an extra special man. I remember growing up we would always want to see the hole in his back from the bomb shrapnel that injured him. I am so proud of the war Veteran that he is and the sacrifice he made for his country.
I remember he would always say " Now there's the prettiest grand-daughter in the whole world" even though I knew he said that to all of us, it still made me feel special.
I was lucky enough to see him a couple of days before he had his stroke, he came into my work wearing jeans, a red jacket and a comb in his back pocket. As he waited for my Dad to come out and greet him, he combed his hair, just like he always had. These little memories mean so much to me.
I love Christmas, just like Daddy-Daddy and just like my own Dad. Not a Christmas goes by where I don't think about you and Daddy-Daddy. Pace Bars, push pops, silver hair, 4th of July parties, Christmas parties, Birthdays when you guys would come to our house, beautiful Christmas presents, wrapped by Grandma of course, Christmas songs, fairy stories, green bath tub, perfume room, will always be things that remind me of the two of you.
I always had a sense growing up that you guys always did service for others, not until I got older did I ever realize how much! What an example you both are to the legacy you have created.
To Daddy-Daddy- I love you. I have missed you for 6 1/2 years while you have struggled with the trials of the stroke. But I remember those warm eyes, the bright smile, and kind heart, and that is what I hold in my own heart. When I would come to visit you and you looked in my eyes, somehow I felt for a just moment that you knew who I was!
To Grandma and my Dad, and all of my wonderful aunts and uncles I love you all and I am so sorry for your loss, but for me I know that my precious son Easton was greeted by my wonderful grandfather with a huge embrace and warm smile and that is a comfort to me.
Love you all,
BreeAnn McDermott Fankhauser

Thursday was our annual McDermott Company & Associates client appreciation golf tournament. It was held at Valley View Golf Course. The weather was perfect. Bethanie, Brandee and I handed out muffins, trail mix and fruit snacks to all of the people that came by. It was a fun day and nice to be out of the office!

More Family pictures

You will notice that there aren't too many pictures of me. I didn't really love that many that had me in it. But I loved them all of Ty and the kids!

My cute little family!

Sweet baby boy with eyes of blue!

Sweet!

Sweet Kaili

Kaili and I. I wish I would have worn a more flattering shirt for these pictures. This white shirt is cute, but not good for pictures! Oh well. You live, you learn!

Weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend. Friday night I had plans with my cousin Tara to go scrapbooking all night long. I was really excited as I am VERY far behind in my scrapbooking.I am pleased to say I got 28 pages done! Granted my pages, aren't like super dramatic, but it gets the job done for what I need. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, which was really yummy and then scrapbooked until about 11:40. It was lots of fun! Isn't that picture of Karson cute, I caught him while he was laughing!
Saturday Tyler got up to help my brother put down sod in his yard, he got home around 11:00 and then we headed over to the District. We needed to go to Fanz to get Kars a BYU shirt. Then we went to lunch at Carl's Jr, and to the grocery store.

Later that night our friends were coming over for dinner and to watch the BYU game. We had YUMMY steaks! Ty and I marinated ours in some garlic butter and Ty cooked them to perfection so good! We had chips and dip, a yummy salad, and some rolls. I also made some sugar cookie bars that were absolutely sinful! I brought the rest of them to work today so I won't eat them all. It was a sad night as the BYU game did not go so well, but we still had a lot of fun.

Sunday, was actually INSANE! I work in the ward library and my friend who also works in the library wasn't there yesterday and it was like the craziest day ever. I was seriously starting to feel some anxiety. After church we went over to my moms for some YUMMY soup and breadsticks and homemade peach pie! Yummers!

Family Picture

We got our family pictures taken the end of June this year. I will try and post some more, it just takes FOREVER for them to download. So I thought I would put one up for now.

Kids...

This weekend was quite busy for us. Friday night Tyler went and picked up Kaili, they got home at around 7:00. During the day Karson and I made some chocolate chip cookies, stopped by and brought Ty Subway for lunch, went and visited Katie at the hospital, went to Papa Murphey's and got some pizza and then took dinner over to my friend Abby. When Ty and Kail got home we ate some pizza and just hung out. Saturday we went to the grocery store and ran some errands and then to Kaili's 2nd favorite place for lunch Panda Express. She loves the chow mein and orange chicken. We watched the BYU game with Matt, Shy and thier cute baby girl Emeri. Kaili loved playing with Emeri. After the game Ty, and I and the kids went to Red Robin since we had a coupon for a free kids meal. The food was yummy and the service actually really good. Karson had fun because they had balloons everywhere so we tied two of them to his high chair. We then went to a park for a bit so the kids could play, and then we went and saw my parents as they had just got home from Hawaii. Sunday we celebrated Kay's birthday and had a yummy dinner of pineapple, salad, chicken and steak kabobs, so yummy, rice, and garlic bread! It was a great dinner. We then ran up to Ty's grandparents house for dessert of chocolate cake and homemade ice cream!
Karson LOVES to push this shopping car around, it's so cute. He bends down his head and looks at the floor and goes really fast, but then he is always running into things. The other day he actually pushed it down the stairs. Guess he wanted it down there. Don't worry he did not fall with it.
Karson eating some grapes! He loves grapes!

Park City August 28-30

So we went up to Park City with my family a couple of weeks ago. My mom and I, and Fernanda and the kids went up a little early so I could stop at Carter's and Osk Kosh, I had a 25% off coupon for both places, plus everything I got was 50%-60% off! It was awesome. Kaili and Karson both needed some fall clothes. I wanted to go to Old Navy and GAP and look around for myself, but that just wasn't going to happen with the kids.
We got up there and I unloaded the car all by myself. I had made a plate of brownies to celebrate my brother Lukes birthday. I thougth I had carefully set them on the little luggage carrier, but about 5 seconds after I started walking with everything, the brownie pyrex pan fell off and shattered everywhere! I mean everywhere. I cut my finger trying to clean it up, and I was trying not to cry. I felt like an idiot and I didn't want any car to drive over the glass and get a flat tire. Plus I was mad about the brownies,I made them from scratch and they take awhile. Any way some workers came and helped me clean up, and all was well. That night we had pizza, ice cream and cake for Lukes birthday and played games. Karson slept like CRAP the whole night. He just wasn't comfortable being somewhere new and Ty and I were up all night. Kaili slept on a hide away bed like 15 feet from us, however she woke up at 7:30 in the morning, screaming bloody murder, because she thought she was alone. It was funny and sad at the same time. Poor girl.
Saturday, as you can see we went to the pool. We got there bright and early at around 9:00 because we were up, so why not. Karson loved it and so did Kaili. I wish we would have brought Kaili's life jacket though, because it would have been easier. The above pool was like a hot tub kind of, little did I know there was a sign saying that children under 3 shouldn't be in there. Oops. It was fine though. After swimming, we went back to the hotel and showered and got ready. We all headed up to the Apline slide and coaster, my mom and dad bought everyone a ticket to do both things. Last year we did this and Kaili loved it. This year she was freaked out the whole time on the Alpine Coaster so we didn't even bother to take her on the slide. Silly girl.

Tyler wanted me to take a picture of him in midair jumping into the pool, I couldn't really get it right, so I took these 4 instead. Any way Saturday night we ate dinner at our fave mexican place up there, and then headed back to play more games. Karson was SO tired so it was kind of hard to play games. Kaili and Keith had so much fun playing together and we did get a few games in there. Saturday night Karson slept a little bit better, but not much. That Sunday when we got home we all crashed and took a nap from like 11:00-2:00 but it was MUCH needed. Thanks mom and dad for providing us with a place to stay.

and going into the water....

And then splash! The end!

Labor Day Weekend....

Well we didn't do much this past weekend. Saturday I woke up feeling pretty much the same. Tyler and his dad gave me a blessing and I went back to bed. Tyler went up to visit his Grandma with Karson, and then Ty's parents watched Karson for us in the afternoon/evening, so I could try and sleep and so that Ty could do homework. Of course we watched the BYU game, and I wish I would have had a camcorder to show you guys what Ty looked like during that game. He was ALL over the place, freaking out! It's awesome they won though!
Sunday I did feel a little bit better, Karson took a long nap so I could take a nap while Ty was at church. We went and ate dinner at Ty's parents and then came home and Tyler did more homework and more homework.

Monday Tyler went golfing with his dad and Karson and I just hung out. I was supposed to go to a movie with Kay and Megan, but I was still coughing and didn't want to be the annoying girl coughing in the theatre. So Monday night we watched more football and that is about it. Tyler was my errand boy all weekend and I appreciate that he was able to do all the things he did for me. Tuesday I finally felt like myself, and I was able to run some errands with Karson and even get some of my fall decorations out. Karson has been having fun attacking the pumpkins I have tried to set up around the house.
Karson is growing up so fast, he loves to play with silverware, turn on the bath water, and sing the song " The wheels on the Bus" he is getting good at copying me doing the actions. He is trying to say so many words, and even though he is into everything, he is STILL the sweetest boy ever! He has been so good while I have been sick, I hope he doesn't get it from me. I have tried to be so careful!

Cruise Day 5 August 21 Cabo San Lucas

I have a lot of pictures from this day so I can't post them all at once, this is us on the water taxi headed to lovers beach, this is my happy face, the face that didn't know it was going to get slammed into the ocean in about 2 hours...
Ty on the water taxi cruise ship in the back ground

Me posing with the frog, this picture is kind of out of order. After showering and washing my hair 5 times, I felt a little bit better

Ty by the Lovers Beach sign, we won't ever forget that place

Ty standing bythe out of control rip tides on the other side of the beach, no one should be dumb enough to swim on this side, I think if I would have been caught up in that mess, I really might have drowned.

The last elegant dinner night. I was starting to feel a little beaten up by this point.

Our dinner crew. We miss you guys!

Sick, Sick, Sick

Tuesday: Took about a 30 minute nap, woke up not feeling too great, just felt kind of wierd. That night had the worse night, chills that would make me shiver and then the next minute I would be sweating so bad.
Wednesday: My mom picked up Karson for me in the morning and I was going to go into work around 10:00 I fell asleep and woke up at 11 with a 102 fever. Took another nap, still not feeling well. Ty has school on Wednesdays so he wasn't around, finally at like 9:15 I called my neighbor Lisa and asked her if she could sit with Kars until Ty got home, he gets home at 10:30 usually but left school a little bit early. Instead Lisa brings her daughter over to sit at the house and she takes me which I was glad for because I was NOT feeling well. Get to the Dr. they give me a heated blanket and water bottle because I was freezing. Fever at 101.9, they tell me I have an infection give me an antibotic.
Thursday: Had Kars with me all day, feel bad because I can't really hold him or kiss him or get to close to him. He won't take a nap until 1:00, I fall asleep until 3:00, still not feeling so well. Start coughing that night, wide awake from 3:00 am to 5:00 am eat 2 popsicles, try to sleep on the couch downstairs where it is cooler, Tyler comes and gets me, I think I drifted back to sleep around 5:30, Kars wakes up at 6:30 make him a bottle, in and out of sleep until 7:30
Friday- Still feel like crap. Coughing like crazy, tired, exhausted, irritable, feel bad for Karson. Called 5 different clinics all booked, have to go to the insta care again, go to the Riverton one though and decide I like it a lot better than West Jordan. Take my blood, poked twice, white blood cell count a little high, but not high enough for concern, get a prescription for cough medicine with codine and am told this flu will run it's course. Blah. It's been one hell of a week that is for sure! I hope I can get some sleep tonight! Thanks Bethanie for coming over today to watch Kars so I could go to the Dr. again, thanks Lisa for taking me to the Dr. the first time and driving me to get my prescription and to Mcd's for some fries. Thanks Kay for making Ty pizza last night and picking up my glasses ( oh yeah left those at the insta care on wednesday night) Thanks mom and dad for the sprite and motrin, thanks ty for the jamba juice and cough drops, and sorry to Ty in advance for always ruining his holiday weekends, it seems like someone in our family is always sick around a holiday, oh well at least he has college football to make him happy!
