Happy Thoughts!!!!

This summer has been flying by! I can't believe it's almost August! This afternoon has been quite slow at work, so I thought I would share some of my happy thoughts of the day

1. I love how Karson calls anything Red ELMO! It is the cutest thing ever!
2. Looking at cupcake blogs, makes me happy! I have started a list of cupcake bakeries/cafes in Utah that I want to visit!
3. Tyler has 5 more 5 week classses and then he will be DONE with school! YAY!
4. Shaved Ice's make me happy, Tigers Blood ecspecially, Karson's faves are Blue Raspberry and Red Raspberry. I found a new one on 1300 W. and 9000 So, it's a Hawaiian ice place and it was FABULOUS!
5. My friend Jen, just adopted a sweet perfect baby girl and named her Layney!
6.I love the show Cupcake Wars!
7. Day dreaming about owning my own bakery one day...or opening up a sports store with Ty...
8. Watching Karson hit a golf ball off a Tee, at 2 years old he is seriously amazing! My mom thinks he is the next Tiger Woods, guess time will tell :)
9. Watching Kaili hula hoop, like a professional!
10. Looking forward to a busy, busy August, but enjoying the last month of summer! August includes, camping at Wasatch, Camping at Palisades, 10 year High School Reunion, 7 Peaks, BBQ and Baseball with friends, possibly the zoo, and whatever else we can fit into that crazy month!

McDermott Family Pictures

During our trip down to St. George last week we had my big family pictures taken. We have 4 additions to our family since our last picture, Katie, Johnny, Noah and Karson, so we needed a new one. I think we will have some that turned out really well!

Isn't this the cutest picture ever? I love it!

Karson was not cooperating with the grandkid picture, finally my mom told him she could get him a ball, and he would only sit right where he was at! Fun stuff!

MCD Fourth of July Birthday Bash

So as you all know every year we have a big birthday party for all the July Birthday's in my family, Mom, Tyler, Fernanda, Keith & Kyle ( Easton). This year we had it on Friday July 2. We had a yummy BBQ with delicious chicken, fruit, corn on the cob, rolls and chips!

Everyone took turns opening thier presents! It is fun to watch, it's like a mini Christmas!

My parents got a killer deal on these BYU golf shoes for Ty! He loved them!

All Kars wanted to do was play on Kyle's birthday present!

The birthday 5!

We did some fireworks after cake and ice cream, Karson didn't really like the ones with loud nosies. He wanted to watch them from inside, with mamma! It was a fun night!

Bachelorette Spoiler for those of you who may care....

OK So I know most of you don't care and think that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette shows I watch are a waste of time, which they pretty much are, but I still like to watch them anyway! I found this reality steve website that was very interesting, it has a lot of information that we shouldn't know yet. And Frank one of Ali's favorites and in her top 3 is going to tell her he is in love with his ex girlfriend, who is now his girlfriend once again! This irritates me to NO END! Why do these stupid people come on these shows, if they aren't over someone else? Yes Alli is getting paid to do this show, but people still have feelings and I know this is the one thing she was scared about and now it is happening to her! And she let Kirk go, and she could have kept him and given him another chance, but NO Frank had to go and ruin it for him and her! It is so ANNOYING! I really want her to pick Roberto, but I just have a feeling that in the end she is going to pick NO ONE, because Frank messed with her emotions too much and then that is just lame, when you pick no one!

Happy Birthday to my Tyler!

Ty turns 29 today! I wrote him for 1 year when he was age 20...kind of wierd to think about that. Ty's Mom & Dad, Gma & Gpa and I all went in and bought him this jersey for his birthday, he was so surprised and happy about it! They don't come cheap you know, it's a REAL Braves jersey! :) Since it's his birthday I thought I would try and come up with 29 things you don't know about him, or things that I love about him! So Buckle in and enjoy the list!

1. Tyler loves chocolate ice cream, very rarely will he eat ice cream that is not chocolate.

2. He is an avid Braves, and BYU fan, But that one I think you all knew already! :)

3. He will watch girly movies with me, just to make me happy.

4. He is actually a true honest fan of Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy!

5. He does however hate shows like Gossip Girl, The OC and Beverly Hills 90210.

6. He is a loyal person, very protective of me, his kids and his Fankhauser and McD Families.

7. He likes to watch Food Network with me sometimes.

8. He hates messes, sticky floors, dirty anything.

9. He washes his hands...a...lot...

10. He is good at mowing the lawn

11. He likes to play games on his ipod touch

12. Since meeting me, he has expanded his love for movies

13. He likes AKON the music artist

14. He has Katy Perry, Josh Groban, Metallica, Johnny Cash and all other sorts of random music on his ipod.

15. He always fulfills his church callings

16. He LOVES to play golf

17. He is good at beating me at games, very rarely can I win against him

18. His favorite color is blue

19. He wants laser eye surgery one day

20. He can speak Spanish

21. He loves me no matter what

22. He is good at taking care of things that I don't want to, buying vaccumes, taking care of the cars, fixing things...

23. He always trys to be happy and positive

24.He loves popcorn

25. He likes to be active and do things outside

26. He loves to cuddle me

27. He would do anything for me and our kids

28. He is trustworthy

29. He is a wonderful father, husband, friend and person! Happy Birthday Ty!

Saturday July 3

Saturday Ty and I ran some errands in the morning went to Wingers for lunch with Kars and took a nap. At about 4 we went over to my parents to play some games and then we headed over to the Riverton carnival. Karson loves the train ride they now have at South Towne Mall so when he saw they had two train rides at the Carnival he loved it! He went on the train three times, and some different car rides they had.

I love this face, he is like "what" any way I am glad we went because Kars loved it. After the carnival we went back to our house and watched the Riverton fireworks from our house, we have a really good view.

Sunday, I made these cupcakes for Tyler's Grandparents house, they were white cake, with sour cream and lemon extract, people loved them, they were delicious! I did half of the batter red and tried to seperate it, like flag stripes, some worked out, some didn't but they still tasted delicious!

Tracy Aviary July 5, 2010

During the day on Monday Ty and I wanted to do something fun with Kars, since he loves birds we thought Tracy Aviary would be a safe bet. We went to lunch at Sconecutter first where Karson downed his popcorn chicken, and then we met up with Kay and Chalese and we all piled in our car and drove to Liberty Park.

Kars loved seeing all of the birds, but mainly wanted to be independent and he kept trying to wander off in different directions. Aunt Chalese was a good sport as Karson just wanted her to hold him everywhere, it was pretty hot...so it was hard carrying Karson around everywhere. I know what you are thinking..." Well why didn't you bring a stroller?" Because these days Karson will hardly sit in one..but it all worked out ok!

Kay got us some yummy shakes from Arctic Circle afterward, it was a fun afternoon, and I can now cross Tracy Aviary off my " Summer to do List"!

Bee's Game July 5, 2010

My Dad bought our whole family tickets to go to the Bee's game and see the fire works. Roury & Amy couldn't come, but everyone else was there, and Ty's parents joined us as well. We had great seats in the shade, so it wasn't too hot. Kars was interested in it for awhile, but then just wanted to walk around, every other inning.

He loved eating popcorn, and french fries, and loved when he saw " The Bee" mascot, Chalese bought him a Bee's baseball for his birthday and he loved that, he even got to go see the Bee, and the Bee signed his hand, which he was showing everyone the next day.

The fireworks were great, and so was the music that they were playing to go along with them. I always feel a sense of pride, to be an American, and I am proud of our country and the many amazing things that this country offers.

It was a fun night !
