Here is Kars standing by chewing on something. He is teething again, poor little guy he has drool all over him right now. Notice how he is sitting? Lately he has been putting one foot/leg in front and one in the back. I think it helps him keep his balance.

Today I was messing around with Karson's hair because it is already long from when we lat cut it.

Then he took the comb from me, and he almost gagged himself with it, as he does with many other things.

His hair is just too long to make it spikey or go curly, so it goes somewhere in between

Karson's first ear infection

So I took Kars to the Dr. yesterday because he still wasn't feeling well. Turns out he has fluid in both ears, and his left one is infected! Poor guy! I grew up with ear infections, so I hate ear problems. We got him on an antibotic and he is doing ok. Last night he woke up at 1:00 and I was up for about 45 minutes with him, he was just crying because I think he was frustrated. Then he woke up at 5:45 again. I hate seeing him sick. I am feeling much better so I am happy for that. I just hope Karson will be back to 100% soon. They weighed him at the Dr. and he weighed in at 20.7

My Dad....

My Dad turned 51 on February 19. So instead of listing 51 things about him I thought I would do 19. Here it goes...
1. My dad was a really good High School athlete in basketball and baseball. He was always in the newspapers.
2. Growing up my dad had VERY bad arthritis, he had to have a couple of surgeries, for awhile he could not even walk because his ankles were so swollen, he had to crawl to get around. I think this was at age 9 or 10.
3. My mom and Dad met when they were 15 years old and have been together ever since.
4. My dad's name was supposed to be Rylee Travis ( that name is now the name of one of my brothers) instead his name is Henry Lucas McDermott Sr, because his Grandpa with that name died on my Dad's birthday My Dad's siblings names are all R's except for 2 Rick, Robin, Rourke, Rondi, Rachelle, Rebecca, LORNA, and Ryan. Lorna and Luke are the only L names.
5. My dad loves the color green and anything Irish. Him and my mom were able to visit Ireland last year on a free trip.
6. My dad has NO gray hair.
7. He started his own business 20 years ago in 1988.
8. He has been a Bishop and in the Stake Presidency
9. He loves to watch movies and eat homemade popcorn
10. He makes really good "goolosh" and carbonara
11. He has a very good memory and remembers exact details about things from his childhood
12. He loves all kinds of people and is friendly to everyone
13. He served his mission in Italy and can still speak Italian. He and my mom went back there in 2000 and are planning on going again soon.
14. He LOVES to golf!
15. He doesn't like camping very much, unless it is near a golf course.
16. He has never gone hunting
17. He isn't a big pet person
18. He knows words to LOTS of songs, and 9 times out of 10 he can tell you the name of the band and the song on the radio, in the era from 1950's-1980's
19. He is a great Dad. He has always been there for me through the good and the bad and I love him very much! Happy " late" birthday wishes Dad!

Running on very low fuel......

So before I talk about this week I wanted to mention the above picture. Don't you love that face? It looks like he got caught doing something naughty! Yes Karson is now pulling himself up all by himself and standing in the crib. He is so strong. Ty is convinced he will start walking in a month, but I am not so sure. However he is growing up so fast! He loves to play in his crib, he just moves all over the place and smiles.

Even when he is sick he is still mostly happy! His hair is growing so fast! It needs to be trimmed again!

So this week has been very tiring. Tuesday I had work off and that was a good thing as I still didn't feel very good at all. Karson was good and seemed happy. Tuesday night he woke up at 1:00 am and wanted to be up again until 2:00 then fell back asleep until 5 then I had to feed him and get up at 6:30 to go to work. My ears were plugged all day at work, which I HATE. My work was all going bowling for my dad's birthday and I had to miss it because I felt like crap.

Wednesday night Karson went to bed just great at 8:00 then he woke up an hour later at 9:00 not very happy at all, because his nose was so stuffed up. He was getting frustrated.Well we tried to get him to go back to sleep, and every time I would rock him he would fall asleep and I would put him in his crib and then he would wake up mad. I think I got out of my bed about ten times before I finally decided to just let him sleep in bed with us. It was 1:00 am by this time and I was wasted. He slept good until about 5:00, then I fed him gave him some medicine and put him back to bed. Luckily I had Thursday off and was able to stay home and play with my stuffed up kid. I also got to get a nap in there when Karson took his afternoon nap, which was MUCH needed for my sanity.

Last night was no better in the sleeping area. Poor Karson just hates being stuffy and he has now started coughing. The medicine helps so I hope this will pass soon. I just hate hearing his stuffy little breathing. I know it could be worse and I am thankful it is just a cold.

Tyler has been very busy with school and work. On Tuesday's he doesn't get home until about 10:45 at night and then Thursday's it varies between 8:00-10:00 I am realizing how much I took advantage of the time we spent together and the reality of being a working, going to school, taking care of kids family is starting to show. We hardly ever have any alone time any more and we are both really tired a lot. This weekend he has a paper to write and we aren't doing much else. Today I am finally starting to feel better, still a little stuffy but better!

So I am running on fumes, I guess you could say. Hopefully this weekend we can relax and get some good sleep in!

P.S. I just wanted to mention that I got the American Idol predictions right this week! Let's see how I do next week!

My favorite things PINK! It's my favorite color...

I love peppermint icecream! Ecspecially around Christmas time! So yummy.

I love pink flip flops. I honestly have about 4 different pairs of them in all different shades of pink. You can't go wrong with flip flops in the summer time!

I love pink purses! I have a pink purse about this exact same color, and I am not kidding every time I am out with it atleast one person compliments me on my purse!

I love the "Pink" clothing collection by Victoria's secret as well as this perfume!

Oh NO he Didn't.....

Ok Bachelor fans, even though I still feel like crap Karson and I were able to watch The Bachelor this morning. I was FLOORED he let Jillian go. I couldn't believe it. She was still my #1 pick. I mean I am glad he is honest and follows his heart, but she was so sad. Oh well that is how the show goes.

Melissa- I think he loves how affectionate Melissa is, and I think he thinks she will be really good with Ty, which I think that as well. He was really bummed he didn't meet her family so I was surprised in the end, he did pick her. I do think that they have an easy chemistry though..so we'll see.

Molly- I am glad she opened up a bit, but it still seems like thier relationship is more fun and light hearted. It will be a toss up on who he will choose.

DeAnna- Why in the freak would she fly all the way out to New Zealand I mean come on people! You didn't pick him. Your done.

So at the end of the show what is all the drama they are leading up to about? I mean really! When Chris Harrison was like we are keeping this as intimate as possible for those involved, I am really confused! So Help me if he doesn't pick anyone! What if Jason got one of the girls pregnant or something? That is actually a thought that came to my mind. The Girls Tell all episode should be interesting!

Poor Jillian. I am still sad for her. I wouldn't mind seeing her the next Bachelorette either. I wish her all the best!

Continuation of Valentines post...

My computer kept freezing up on me so I had to shut down and re-start. So any way bowling was fun with the fam, hectic but fun. We went home and Kaili and Karson had naps, then Ty did and then I did. That night Ty's stomach wasn't feeling too well and I wasn't feeling so great, so we just ate ramen and soup for our Valentines Dinner, not too exciting. We all got spoiled for Valentines this year. Kaili got fun things from my parents and Ty's paretns. Ty and I got movie gift cards and an itune gift card from my parents and a Wingers gift card and treats from Ty's parents. The " Valentine Man" stopped by our house as well. This is a tradition that comes from my dad's family growing up and my parents continued it with us and now their grandkids.

Sunday we got up at 6:00 am to head up to Logan for a baby blessing. Ty's brother Matt did a good job at blessing Emeri Rose. She was quiet through out the whole blessing. We then went over to thier house for some yummy baked potatoes, fruit, treats and rolls. Courtesy of Kay, her rolls really are the best. This is where I started feeling worse and worse.

We left and when we got home I went to the instacare. I have an inflamed left ear drum but not infection, sore throat, but not strep, sinus cold, but not infection...or so they say. Today I feel about ten times worse than yesterday so I am pretty sure it is an infection and I am just going to have to call tomorrow to get an antibotic, because all he would give me was a decongestant and something to help me sleep at night.Today my left side of my face, head, eye whatever is swollen and very soar. My eyes keep watering, my nose keeps running, and I feel so much pressure, I can't really get comfortable laying down. Whose with me when I say that I don't think any mom in the whole world should be allowed to get sick,until all her kids are what age 10 and up? It just isn't fun. The world can't stop just because one lowly mom like me is sick, But I wish it could! I feel like crap!

Oh yeah Ty got me a gift card for a spa pedicure, which I am really excited about, and I still have some Christmas bonus money set aside and I am going to get a manicure with that money, so I will have a little spa day soon. I am excited! For his final gift of Valentines I got him a gift card to Massage Envy. He also got me a very sweet card.

Valentines, Bowling and being sick....

This year I did a treasure hunt for Kaili to find her Valentines prizes from me and Ty. I just got a bunch of $1 items from Target along with some new shoes she desperately needs and some new Hannah Montana underwear. She had a lot of fun finding the stuff, so I am glad it went well. Karson got a new ball to play with and some new pajama's. He loves playing with balls right now.

My brother Roury's birthday is on the 17th and my dads is on the 19th so we went bowling. Kaili and Keith had fun the first game and then after that they were done. Ty got a 193 and 178 he did really good. I did horrible.

American Idol Season 8: Anoop!

Man can this guy sing! By looking at him we would probably all be judgemental at first and be like oh boy he is going to suck. Uh no. He is amazing. Of course they will change his hair and eyebrows but I would not be surprised at all if he made it to the top 12. He needs to be pick the right song though. I am a fan.

American Idol Season 8: Danny Gokey FAVORITE!

Danny is my favorite so far! He can sing, sing, sing. It doesn't matter what song, he can just sing it. He has nothing to lose. His wife died last year and I feel like he is putting all of his energy, pain, love and soul into his singing, and it is proving to make him a star. He has GOT to be in the top 12. If he isn't, I just don't know if I can continue watching the singing. I was disappointed his best friend didn't make it. I loved how he sang " Hey there Delilah" in Hollywood week, his friend that is. Danny sang " I hope you Dance" and it was awesome. I got chills, because I just knew he was singing that for his wife. For a guy who has lost so much, it would be so great to see him succeed at this show!

American Idol Season 8: Lil Rounds

I Like Lil. She's got a lot of soul and passion to her voice. She's been through a lot and she is only 23. I want her to be her own person though. I am not a fan of Fantasia at ALL, and sometimes she reminds me of Fantasia, so I hope she can make her style her very own.

American Idol Season 8: Megan Corkery

Representing Sandy Utah! What! What! The only time I really saw Megan was on her audition show and she did well. I didn't really see her much in Hollywood week, but obviously they kept her for a reason. She has a unique voice, Norah Jones, Jewel, Tori Amos, all wrapped up into one. We'll see how she does. I hope she picks the right song, cause that can make you or break you.

American Idol Season 8: Taylor Vaifanua

Representing Hurricane Utah! What! What! I like this girl, I think she can sing. I am not sure how far she will go, but I like her. She is young, so that might go against her.

American Idol Season 8: Scott Macintyre

Scott is one of my favorite contestants for so many reasons. 1. He is an amazing piano player and he sings beautifully with the piano 2. He is from Arizona, so on the west side of the United States. 3. He is blind. I am so AMAZED at blind people and how talented they are. He truly is incredible and he really does have a good voice. I hope he gets into the top 12!

The Bachelor- Home Towns

Jillian- Canada.
Don't you just love how they all say the word again? I love it. Any way I am a big fan of Jillian. I am pretty positive she will be one of the final two and I want her standing at the end. I love her honesty, I love her personality and I love her hair, so flowy and bouncy. Any way I think he got along with her family perfectly.He wasn't ever nervous or anything. I was a big fan of thier hometown date. I am glad she told him about her mom, people's struggles and thier past is a big part of who they are. Jason is a good listener and he never is judgemental, which is a very good quality to have. I think thier chemistry is soo great, and they have a lot of things in common. I would love to see how she interacts with Ty and get a feel for what kind of mom she would be.

Molly- Michigan
This hometown date also seemed to go well. They played some golf and then went over to her parents house. I loved the part where her dad told her " If you aren't the final one he picks, please don't cry as soon as you get in the limo" I loved it. However I think that is the only time I heard her dad speak. Her mom to me was a little much. I can see what she was trying to do, lighten the situation and make everything fun. But those hats? Really? and making him draw a picture of her? It was a little silly to me. They could have just talked and gotten to know him. Also what was interesting is his kiss with Molly at the end, wasn't anything special. Which usually they kiss for awhile. His goodbye kiss to Jill seemed much more intense to me. It will also be interesting to see how Molly is with Ty too.

Naomi- California
Ah wasn't this date a little interesting? A mother who wants Jason to bury a dead dove, and she tells him that she is an " Indigo" or whatever. Wow. Nothing like that to scare a guy away. Also the Dad was a little much with his religion talk. Obviously I have nothing against religion, I am religious, but why don't you try and get to know him first instead of bombarding him with all of this talk. And then Naomi was like "Oh yeah I guess we should have talked abou religion" It was all just pretty insane. And then telling Jason that your daughter is a little " indigo" wow.....but what kills me is that when Jason left Naomi's house he was full on making out with her. I think we can establish one thing here, Jason loves kissing Naomi. Maybe it was a good bye kiss. Well we know it was now.

Melissa- Texas
Ah Melissa. I really wonder what her parents are like. Your child was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader and you can't go and see one of her games? How is that being a private person, by not supporting your daughter? Wierd. Obviously Jason was disappointed that he couldn't meet her family. Her friends were really nice, but you could tell he wanted to learn as much about her parents as she could. People's family usually tell a lot about that person, so I can see why he wanted to know so bad. I think he likes Melissa, but he has his reservations now. I thought the little tooth fairy box that she made for Ty was very cute and thoughtful. I do think she would be a good mom, but you have to wonder who she TRULY is and you couldn't get a good look at that, because you didn't meet her family.

Next week I think the final two will be Molly and Jillian. Tough decision for sure. I am glad Naomi wasn't freaking out when she left, she cried but she did ok. I am not sure when DeAnna is coming back, it's wierd that it hasn't happened yet. But I am not worried I REALLY don't think he is going to take her back. Not after everything that happened. Sure sometimes giving people a second chance works out, but I don't think it will for them!

My Favorite things Orange...

I love pumpkin soup! My cousin Auburn made some amazing pumpkin soup one time and I have loved it ever since.

I love Halloween and Halloween sugar cookies, and you always need some orange frosting!

Pumpkins always remind me of fall. Fall is my favorite season, so I love a great big orange pumpkin!

My brother Rylee and my dad love these peach rings, they got me hooked on them, and whenever I am craving something sugary, fruity, and gummy I think of these!

I love these butterflys. They remind me of my childhood. One time when I was probably 10 or 11 one summer for some reason there were just thousands of these butterflies, flying around. We went over to the elementry school yard ( I liked like 2 minutes away from my elementry school) and we took a bird cage ( yes smart I know) and tried to catch these butterflies. That is a great memory for me.

Oranges remind me of my Dad, and my Daddy-Daddy ( My dad's dad) growing up my Dad and i would watch the cosby show and eat oranges together. Those are special times I hold close to my heart. And my Daddy-Daddy was always seen eating an orange.

I love all Gerber Daisies. But I really like these orangy ones. I think they are so pretty and unique.

Growing up my family would always make homemade orange julius's. Which reminds me I haven't had one for a long time, but I really like them. Roury get on that!

I am not that huge of a fan of orange candy, but I do really like these orange slices!
