Yesterday started out crazy to begin with, Karson woke up at 5 am because his leg was hurting him. I went and laid down by him and rubbed his leg and sang songs to him. Hudson woke up at 6, went and laid by him to get him back to sleep and Karson was back up at 7.
I went to switch the laundry and realized the laundry room stunk like gasoline, I had a long skirt on the night before and I got gas, the gas from the ground got onto my dress. I forgot to wash it that night. Awesome. I had a whole batch of clothes in the washer and they all smelled like gasoline. I washed them, then washed them again.
I got the kids situated watching cartoons and playing trains, as soon as I say I am going to hop in the shower, all hell breaks loose. Mom, I need this, mom Hudson took this, mom Karson did this, pounding on the bathroom door. Ah, so relaxing.
Go to work, pick them up. Both are whiny and tired from lack of sleep the night before. I was making two batches of oreo truffles, and two batches of sugar cookie bars for a wedding. I was paid, which was great, but I don't think enough. It took me 5 hours to get all of this done, with whiny, crying, fighting children. And my kitchen is of course a mess so now I am going to have to go home, sweep, mom, wipe everything down which will take another hour I am sure.
Yes Tyler got home around 6:00, and tried to help, but do you think they want Dad to bathe them? Nope, mom. Can Dad put them to bed? Nope. Mom. So then it just stresses Tyler out, because he knows I am stressed and it is a vicious cycle. Hudson decided not to go to bed until 11:30 last night, and I may or may not have had a mini break down.
I finally came into the bedroom, literally pulled the covers over my head, and told Tyler, I can't do this anymore tonight. I don't care if screams or cries, you need to lay by him. Luckily Tyler was able to get him to sleep, so around midnight with an aching back and very sore feet I finally fell asleep.
I love my kids so much, and they make me so happy, but days like yesterday it is so damn hard sometimes being a MOM! Tyler has meetings until 8 pm tonight, so I guess today after work, we will go to the library, get frozen yogurt and go home and crash, and hopefully have a good night!
