My little Love Bug

I have been calling Karson that lately Love Bug and I like it. I wanted to add some more of him in his tiger costume, cause it's just so dang cute. I have him here with me at work today and the morning was rough, he was so tired, and he was fighting it, and I think he is teething on top. Seems early but I am pretty sure he is! He has been asleep for almost an hour and a half, poor little guy!

I don't have different picture folders, I just put them all in one file, so this is the 6th picture in my photo files. This is of Kaili and I and she was about 2 and a half and it is sometime in the late summer. We were just hangingout one Saturday morning and took this picture. Tyler really likes this picture for some reason, to me my nose just looks really red. Kaili is a true girl. She loves purses, make up, princess stuff, dressing up, wearing high heel shoes, singing, dancing, Hannah Montana, pink, purple, baby dolls, barbies, anything girly she likes it. It's so fun listening to her talk and make up stories. She can spot letters now and write her numbers, she is growing up so fast, and I enjoy our one on one conversations together. I love her so much!

Tyler, Tyler Pumpkin Carver....

So I have almost been married for 3 years and as you are married you discover hidden talents that your spouse has. Such as my Tyler is the best egg maker ever. He is like a made to order chef for eggs, scarmbeled, over easy, fried, whatever you want he can make them for you. He is also great at making carbonara like how my dad does. Yum! I recently found out that he can make REALLY good hot chocolate, he is great at fixing cars, and Tyler is a great vacumer. Vacumer is that a word? Oh well I just made it one. I could go on and on, but I will just fill you in on his newest discovered talent of carving pumpkins. Tyler carved all 4 of these pumpkins and I have to say they are amazing! The BYU one he just did free handed with out a trace thing or anything, the Princess ones he had a trace paper that he would poke into the pumpkin and then he would do it from there, but you still have to be pretty accurate to have them turn out as well as they did. Kaili had a blast with her Dad picking out the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch and watching him carve them for her! It was a great Saturday night to be together as a family!

Aren't these awesome!

2nd Annual McDermott Family Halloween Party

So I have a lot more pictures to add, but blogger is being dumb right now, so I will publish this post and then try to add more pictures. We had my side of the families Halloween Party on Friday night. It was a lot of fun. Ty and I were " Hunters" if you couldn't tell! Karson was a cute Tiger and Kaili was Tinker Bell! We had Minestrone soup, and white bean chili soup, my mom also made breadsticks. Yum! I made pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting for dessert and my mom had a " cookie" walk that was really cute, and she mad her famous sugar cookies. She also had some other games for the kids, the Bat Fishing pond, the scary throw toss and they had to go look for some hidden things. We also watched Charlie Browns Halloween! Thanks mom for all of your hard work in putting this together for us! We look forward to it every year. Kaili had a blast! She was so excited!
This is my brother Roury as Charlie Brown, you know his Ghost costume from the cartoon? It was a perfect match!

Here are the cousins, Keith was the black spiderman but he called himself Venom, Kyle was the cutest Frankenstien ever, and Kaili was of course the pretty Tinker Bell!

Tuesday!

Well Tuesday was a fun filled day. Well all of it was not so fun! My poor baby boy had a rough day yesterday! He had to get 3 shots and this time he was truly not happy about it! His face went bright red and he screamed and screamed! Poor little guy! He also didn't like the paper he was laying on when the Dr was looking at him, it made a loud noise every time he moved and Karson was not having that, and when they had to meausre his head, he was very sad too! He weighs 15.25 pounds which puts him in the 50th percentile for weight and he is 26 inches long which puts him in the 80th percentile for heighth.
He was being so cute during these pictures trying to laugh! When I got home he slept for a little bit and I started on dinner, I was making home made chicken noodle soup and I needed to get it in the crock pot, for the recipie, check out my other blog click on my link to it called " My Stuff" any way I started on that, did laundry etc. Then my friend Kristen from my ward and I have been talking about going walking together forever. Well we finally went on our first walk yesterday and it felt great. We probably walked about 3 miles, Karson was good and fell asleep towards the end. We are going again on Saturday and next week we are going Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It is sad it is starting to get cold and we are just doing this, but at least we can try and keep something going and then in the spring we can keep it going even better!

After our walk however I experienced a very sad baby! From about 2:00-2:45 Karson was crying non stop the most I have ever heard him cry and nothing I did, made him feel better. It was so sad! I think his little legs were just hurting him and I couldn't fix it.I finally got him to eat and he fell asleep for about two hours! Poor little guy! Well dinner turned out great as well as the biscuits I made, and that was my day!

So I know that most of you will think I am crazy ecspecially Danie, however Danie knows I am like this so she won't think I am TOO crazy! Any way Saturday Ty and I got all of Kaili's Christmas shopping done, and when we got home I wrapped it all up! I know, it's not even November yet, but with my life being how it is right now, the sooner the better is my motto. We are also mostly done for Karson and we got some family birthday gifts and Christmas gifts out of the way, so our living room looks like Santa's workshop right now. But I will get it cleaned up today. So I would say we are about half way done.
Friday night Ty and I went to Riley's Diner on Redwood Road, I thought the Chocolate Oreo shake we shared was good, the food was ok and the prices were way too high for what it was. I bet if we went back there it would just be for shakes.
Also on Saturday we went to Johnny Carino's for lunch we had a coupon for a free appetizer and got thier Italian Nachos, so yummy! We also got some good pasta dishes. We said when we go back there we would just get the bigger nacho plate and side salads and call it good. We have an envelope called " date night" that I put some money in from each of my paychecks and we used that money to pay for all of our food this weekend. It was nice! Now we start saving again for a date in November! After our day of shopping we hung out at home and then met up with Tyler's parents later that night at Five Guys, Burgers and Fries. I got a hot dog this time with the works and it was pretty good, other than my bun being a little soggy, still yummy, then we played Canasta with Ty's parents. We won!
Sunday was my first time at my new calling, it was pretty easy, the nursery kids were cute and wanted to sing all of the little kids songs, no church songs. I did manage to sneak in I am a Child of God as well as Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam. I gave them each a sticker at the end and they loved that. I love little kids, they are so sweet.
I am pretty tired today for some reason, I think possibly stress. Oh well I am going to get some caffiene in me in just a little bit, to wake me up!
Karson has his 4 month doctor appointment tomorrow, with more shots. Sad! I can't believe he is already 4 months!

Thank Goodness it's Friday, but sad night for BYU!

Ah! I am so glad it's Friday! Usually by Friday I am exhausted from everything going on during the week! Karson slept from 10:30-5:30 which was amazing, but I have since been up since 5:30 this morning I got to work today at 6:50 AM! That's ok though, cause that means I get to leave right about 5:00. I am excited to just take it easy tonight, Ty and I need to get caught up on some of our shows, so it will be nice to just relax! Tomorrow we are going to go Christmas shopping! I am excited to get some of that out of the way!
Last night was the BYU game, and they lost. Tyler wasn't very happy, but he handled it pretty well. I made a 7 layer bean dip and some pumpkin chocoalte chip cookies. They turned out pretty good, but I think I needed to put more cinnamon in them! Oh well, now I know for next time!

These pictures I just took of Karson yesterday in between some loads of laundry and trying to get things done! He is growing so fast! He is starting to smile all the time and laugh and eat his hands or his blankets or his bibs! He loves to hold onto stuff, and I can't believe Sunday he will be 4 months! They really do grow up so fast! We have his 4 week check up on Tuesday and he has to get more shots! Sad!

I loved his face in this picture! I love his eyes sometimes they just open so wide, and look questioning. I love this littl boy so much. He means everything to me. The other day I was thinking about Easton and how cute Easton and Karson would be as little buddies. I miss Easton every day and wish I could have seen his personality grow and what he would be like, but I am so thankful for Karson and that I have him here with me right now!

This is Karson's best buddy this elephant stuffed animal it plays music and lately he has been trying to eat him. It's cute. YAY for Friday, this is a much needed unstressful weekend!

So hard to not be sterotypical in these situations....

So here is the situation. Today at work I was getting a major headache, and I needed some caffiene. It's true. So I went to the gas station by my work. I walk in and go by the drinks, well there happens to be three hispanic people there warming up hotdogs, as soon as I walk by, one nudges the other one to look at me, and then all 3 of them are now gawking at me, while I get a drink. You know when you can feel people's eyes on you , and it is very uncomfortable, yes this is what was happening to me. So I am trying to ignore them, so then I walk over to look at some chips and they then proceed to whistle almost like they are chirping at me, like they are birds and I am thier prey. So annoying. One of them was like peeking at me through a rack of some stuff that was hung up. Ew! I post this because I am sick of it. It's not like I am just so wonderful to look at they can't help themselves, I think they do this to most women, not ALL of them, but some of them, and you just can't help but to categorize them into " THAT" category, you know the annoying, gross, male category of men who disrespect women. This has happened to me at that gas station a couple of times, and I just don't understand it! Oh well it's not the end of the world, just a bit of an awkward situation! And just because they are speaking in Spanish doesn't mean I don't get the just of what they are saying!

Weekend...

So our weekend was pretty good. Friday I went up and got Kaili and traffic wasn't bad at all! I made it to her pre-school in 50 minutes. Friday night we went to Cafe Rio and came home and just hung out. We had planned to go to the zoo on Saturday with my family but as you all know the weather wouldn't allow that. So instead we went to Kaili's favortie place to Eat, Sweet Matoes, as she calls it and then we went bowling. Tyler won the boys with a score of 132 and 165 I think.. and my mom won the girls with a 111 and 135 I think! After bowling we went to watch the BYU game, I managed to sneak in some much needed grocery shopping while Ty watched the game, Karson slept and Kaili got to play in the new play room my mom created with Keith and Kyle. Sunday was church and then we just hung out at home, Ty made some very yummy carbonara, and I managed to sneak in about a 45 min much needed nap. It was a good weekend! They always go by way too fast for me though! I got a new calling, I am the nursery music leader, which shouldn't be too hard. So that is good.
Me and my favorite sister...he he she is my only sister, but she is one of my favorite things! :) We look nothing alike! :)

Bethanie and Kaili bowling, after awhile Kaili decided she didn't want that roller thing, and just pushed it on her own.

Aunt Joie and Karson!

Grandma and Karson, he wouldn't look at the camera, when I would take the pictures, just right after I was done!

Kaili and Karson, so cute!

Oh, our sweet little family. This picture actually turned out pretty well!

Mommy and Karson!
This week is going to be yet another busy week! Time flys! Next week Karson will have his four month check up! I can't believe it! He will have to get more shots too! No fun! I can't believe it snowed all ready! It makes me want to start listening to Christmas music!

New Hair!

So last night my little sis Bethanie high lighted my hair, I just wanted a change from what I have had it like the past couple of months, which was a darker all over color, I was very happy with the end result! Thanks Bethanie!

Fun Weekend...

So I love rainy weekends, they are the best! This weekend was a lot of fun. Friday Tyler left work early and drove up to Logan to go to the BYU with his dad, brother Matt and Matt's wife Shy. Ty was so excited he couldn't wait. He ended up having a lot of fun, Thanks Matt and Shy for letting him stay with you. Since Ty's dad was at the BYU game, I called Kay his mom and asked her if she wanted to go to Robert's with me, we ended up going to dinner at Sam Pan and then walked around Roberts, they were having a big paper sale, and I got some cute stuff to do these blocks I have posted. I also bought a cute fall wreath for 50% off that I will take a picture of and post later! I slept at my parents house with Karson and we watched the first session of conference.
So above are the cute FAMILY blocks I made and then I made two sets of Noel blocks, the red ones turned out better because you can see the letters better than the below ones, but I still like them both. Saturday while the boys were at Priesthood, us Fankhauser girls got busy crafting away, Kay had everything there for us and was the cutting paper machine, it is the biggest pain to cut the paper to match the blocks exactly and I am horrible at cutting straight lines, so Kay helped me out with that. I had a lot of fun crafting! We ate with the boys first and Larry made dutch oven potatoes, chicken, carrots and onions, very yummy! We also had a good salad and mint brownies and pumpkin bars! So good! Karson, was of course an angel so mommy could paint and get some things done!

I also made two sets of cute Halloween blocks that say BOO on them but we need to redo the letters in a smaller font, they are way cute though! Thanks Kay for allowing us to craft at your house and get paint everywhere, it was a lot of fun! Sunday morning I made bluberry muffins and these new brownies, and Ty and I watched conference together, then we went over to my parents house and had the famous " Goolosh" my dad makes every conference, it is potatoes, onions, peppers, tomoatoes, eggs, and cheese all mixed together. Yummy! I then got some scrapbooking done, while I watched the second sesssion, then we watched Iron Man and played Taboo which the girls totally kicked butt! We then went home and watched The Unit, one of the best shows ever! Karson was a good little boy all weekend long! Friday night he slept from 11-6 Saturday night from 11-5 and last night he slept from 10-4:30 and then at 4:30 he was wide awake full of energy kicking his legs all over the place!

This is Karson eating some rice cereal mixed with applesauce, if I don't put it in his mouth fast enough he lets out a scream! It's very cute! He eats this about once a day, and I think it has been helping him sleep. It gets kind of messy, and he is getting so big!

I was trying to get a picture of this whole outfit, because this is the one that says " Hairwolf" on it, but I could only get that part, you get the idea though!

This is a cute little outfit, I wanted to get a picture of him in! I love overalls on babies! Now it's Monday and back to work!
