Weekend

Hey everybody! Well I am happy to say that on Friday night Karson slept from 9:30 until 3:30 I couldn't believe it, when I woke up to him crying I had to keep checking the clock, cause I couldn't believe he had slept for that long! It was pure heaven! I will never take my sleep for granted again!
Friday my mom went and picked up Kaili for me and she brought along Keith, traffic was great for her, she made it up there in an hour and home in an hour! That is amazing! Kaili was surprised and exctied to see Keith and my mom pick her up at her pre-school. I was able to get a ton of laundry done at home while she went and picked her up. I am feeling a lot better and the worst of the surgery is behind me, I am glad that the pain from that is done and over with!

Friday night we went to Five Guys Burger's N Fries since we have heard such great things about that place, it was really good. Much better than In N Out Burger in my opinion. I felt a little sick to my stoamch after we ate there, because I haven't eaten greasy food in awhile, but if you are craving a good burger, I would go there. Then we went to Target and picked up some things we needed and headed back home. Saturday Tyler had a golf tournament with my McDermott side of the family that my dad put together so Kaili and Karson and I hung out all day and went to Sweet Tomatoes, with Kay and Larry. Kaili wanted to take these pictures with Karson and her baby....

Here's my happy boy, people are constantly telling me what a good baby he is, and I feel so lucky and blessed to have him in our home, I love him so much!

Here is a picture that Kaili took of Karson and I, she is really into taking pictures lately. Kaili is now for the moment going to be Tinker Bell for Halloween, it went from Princess, to Dorothy, to a cheerleader and now Tinker Bell, so we shall see what she really ends up being. Kaili was really good this weekend and her imagination as always is quite creative, she makes me laugh and I love her very much! At church on Sunday her primary teachers told her that she was such a "doll" and she was quite offended and said to them " My not a doll!" so they explained to her that it just meant that she was very cute! So funny.

More pictures of Karson!

So I took some of these pictures yesterday while Karson and I were hanging out together. He is starting to get to that age where he wants my attention all of the time, and knows when I am not giving it. He loves me to hold him so he can stand on his feet, I have a feeling he is going to love his bouncy thing when we hook it up to the wall, he just needs to be able to hold his head up better. He was being so cute and smiling right here!

Here is a picture of him trying to crawl, he holds on to the sheets and pushes with his feet, he did move a little bit, I swear in a couple of months he will be crawling. So cute!

Karson LOVES to take baths, every time he is in the bathtub he is happy, he just chills there and smiles. Maybe he will be a swimmer! So cute!

Karson is 3 months old!

So my sweet baby Karson turned 3 months old on Friday! I can't believe it. Where did the summer go? He is still a really good baby, he just cries when he is tired and wants to eat, or if he has kicked his blanket off of him in the middle of the night and he is cold. He has discovered his fingers and is now putting his fist into his mouth, he has also discoverd his hair and one hand is always reached up playing with his hair. I taught him how to stick his tounge out so he likes to do that and smiles at me when I stick mine out at him. And he is losing his hair! It's so sad, I know it will grow back but now since he can move his head more and he squirms around on the blankets the hair is falling out on the sides, oh well it was bound to happen. I love watching him grow, he is getting so big! I feel so blessed to have such a well behaved baby, he is the cutest thing ever. I love you Karson!

So.....

So I just have to complain for a moment! I was starting to feel better with this whole surgery thing, and then last night I woke up at 1:00 in the morning because I could hear Karson and I have this severe pain in my stomach below my ribs, it felt like someone had punched me in the gut, and I couldn't breathe...it hurt a lot! I felt like I needed to throw up and I couldn't. I felt like I had all of this air inside of me that couldn't go anywhere and it was a lot of pressure! Ugh! I was up until 2:00 in the morning and somehow managed to go back to bed, because I took some nausea medication that makes you tired, then Karson woke up again at 3:00 and I was up with him until 4:00. He was up again at 5:00 and I was up at 6:30 to get ready for work, I should have been up at 6:00 but I just couldn't get out of bed!
So I called the Dr. today and told them of my pain and they said it is normal to feel that way for a couple of weeks after surgery, to just drink plenty of water and eat lots of fiber, to get my digestive system back on track, but seriously every time I get up or move, it feels like I got the wind knocked out of me, it is the most annoying feeling and it just started up last night! So I am at work dealing with it, with no pain meds! Lovely. I am pretty bitter about it right now, because I really feel horrible, so that is my little rant for the moment!

Thank You!!!

Hey all. I am alive and surviving! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the warm well wishes and thoughful concern. I am doing good. The surgery went well, we had to be at the hospital on Tuesday morning at 6:30 am, went in for surgery at 7:30 and we were out of the hospital by 10:15. Going under wasn't as bad as I thought, mainly because it happened so fast, I remember saying " Wow I can feel that fast" and then I was out, and waking up in the recovery room, itching my nose like crazy. My nose was so itchy! Tuesday was rough, my right shoulder was killing me and I was very sick to my stomach all day. Tyler was so helpful all day on Tuesday and my mom helped us until about 2:00. Tyler took great care of me and I am so thankful to him for the wonderful husband that he is! Wednesday my mom came and stayed with me all day to help with Karson and that was great too. Thursday Tyler's mom took Karson all day for me and I slept from 8:00 in the morning until 1:00 in the afternoon I needed it bad! Thanks Kay. Friday I was feeling pretty good, except just really sore where the incisions are, It was a little hard to take care of Karson all day by myself because to feed him and hold him puts pressure on my incisions, but we made it through! Thank you so much to all of my family, friends and neighbors who brought us food, it is so much appreciated! I feel so lucky to have such wonderful supportive people in my life. Every day I am feeling better, so hopefully by next week I can start exercising again! And as far as the stomach pain from eating, it is completely gone, so that is great!

Wish me luck....

Tomorrow is the big day. I am having my surgery at 7:30 in the morning. I have to be there at 6:30! I was hoping to maybe have it later in the day to sleep in and rent some movies, but oh well good to get it over with first thing in the morning I guess! I am nervous and anxious for it to be done and over with, so wish me luck!

Weekend and GO BYU!!!

So Saturday we were all wearing our BYU gear for Ty. He is a big BYU fan and was very happy with the HUGE win over UCLA this weekend. Kaili was in the mood to take pictures, so I took advantage of that. She was so cute holding Karson, she wanted to keep taking a bunch of pictures.
I love Karson's expression in this picture, he wasn't too sure about what was going on

All smiles.

I let Kaili take a picture of Karson and I, she did pretty good, except for part of her finger was in the way.

She took this one as well, with no fingers in the way! She kept telling me she wanted to take my picture by a tree for some reason.

Kaili and I. On Friday I went and picked up Kaili and we got home at around 3:30, as soon as we get to our house, she always goes to her room and comes out with some toys, she always knows exactly what she wants, which means she has been thinking about it for awhile, on Friday she came out with this pretend princess camera that Bethanie gave her for Christmas last year I think. She starts to tell me this story:
" Oh hi Friend. Do you know what? I went to the store, because I needed batteries for my camera and do you know how much they were? 90 bucks! I opened them and they were broken, so then I had to go to the next store, and my friend Zela was there and she told me they were 90 bucks! And I told her oh no I don't think so, so guess what? I still don't have batteries for my camera, but it still works" I love the things that come out of her mouth!

Kaili also took this picture of me sporting my BYU shirt, not too bad.

This is Kaili and her Aunt Manda as she would call her. She is always fascinated by Amanda's jewlery and purses and phone. On Satuday the 4 of us me and Kaili and Amanda and Kay went to Gardener Village for lunch for Kay's birthday to walk around and eat. The weather was nice and it was fun to look at all of the stores.
I had more pictures on here one of Kaili with Grandma Kay and some other ones and they just deleted, wierd. I will post them later!

My cute blue baby boy...

I just had to post these pictures of Karson having a grand old time in my office. He has been liking the bouncing chair at my moms house and today he really enjoyed this one I have been keeping at work, kicking his feet and laughing and listening to the music and looking at the lights. His left eye is a little red because he poked himself in the eye, and he was so upset, it was so sad, and just a little bit funny, because he was so confused as to why his eye hurt.
I can't believe my little baby boy is going to be 3 months old next week! Time goes by so fast when you are busy!

He was laughing right here!

I love this one wit the scrunched up nose!

Surgery...

So I had my ultrasound done this morning and it was confirmed that I have a large gallstone on my gallbladder, so next Monday at 8:30 I am meeting with the surgeon to have a consult and then we will schedule the surgery for sometime the next day on Tuesday.I just want to get it out and over with because this is causing me more stress and I don't want any more stress. So hopefully it will be a quick recovery and I can go back to doing all the things I need to do!

My day with Karson

Yesterday was my day off and I spent the day with Karson, doing pretty much nothing...I did do 4 loads of laundry, and gave him a bath but that was about it. I needed a day to calm down and relax and do nothing. September has already started out as a crazy month for us and I think it will continue on that way. My mother-in-law Kay bought that onesie for him that says " I love my mummy" I thought it was cute, but I couldn't really get a great shot of the shirt!
Karson was smiling like crazy on this chair, but of course I could only get a few pictures it was so funny because he kept sliding over and slumping down in the chair and he was laughing thinking he was so funny. He is a morning person I think because always at about 6:30 am he is WIDE awake and smiling and laughing, it's cute, but early!

He is starting to get some chubs in his little legs and belly.I love it. It's so cute, I did some scrapbooking on Saturday and I was looking at some of his pictures over the 4th of July and he seemed so small, because he was, he has come a long way!

I am feeling ok. I don't feel great, but I don't feel horrible, just kind of inbetween, and I just want to get my gall bladder out and recover from that and hopefully I can feel back to normal! Life is so crazy sometimes, but I also know that I am blessed too. I just have to keep remembering the good over the bad.

I had to take a picture of this, because I think it's so cute when Karson sleeps like this and his little hands are in fists. I love this boy so much!

So the diagnosis has been determined.....

So Saturday night we had a company bbq to celebrate the 20th anniversary of my Dad's company being in business. We had a nice time and had yummy steaks and a lof of sides to go along with it. At 2 am that night Karson woke up to eat and as I got out of bed to go get him this pain was stabbing at my insides. I fed him and put him back to bed and got out the heating pad to see if that would help. I was in bed until 4 am in severe pain when I finally woke Tyler up, I didn't want to go to the hospital but I didn't know what else to do! So we dropped Karson off at my mom and dads, and drove up to Alta View ER, they got us in pretty fast, had to stick me again for more blood and stick an IV in me, the Dr came in and asked me some questions and thought it sounded like my gallbladder to him, so he gave me some pain meds nad nausea meds which helped a lot and came back about 40 mins later with a small ultrasound machine, which he then proceeded to tell me I have a large gallstone on my gallbladder and the steak is probably what set it off. So he says I have to get a more " thorough" ultrasound from the hospital and then he would reccommend for me to get it out.
So I called this morning and the soonest they can get me in for an ultrasound is Thursday morning at 7:30 am and then hopefully next week I can get my gallbladder taken out. I have heard from a lot of people the surgery isn't that difficult, I am just scared to have to go under all the way, the last time I did that I was a senior in High School and it was for my wisdom teeth. So I am glad to know we know what is exactly wrong now, but i want it out. They gave me pain meds to take home, but obviously I can't take those in the day and drive with them, so I can only take them at night, and I can only eat specific things, so it won't irritate the gallbladder! Lovely! The good news is, the surgery will basically be free since I have met my insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums!

Easton Blog

So I have been sitting here at work with nothing to do at the end of the day and so I thought I would read some random blogs. I found a blog on my friends' website and from there found many more blogs about people who have lost thier children.
All these people have lost thier babies at different times, still borns, young toddlers, bigger children. Some of these children had big health problems in the womb, some died of tragic accidents. It is AMAZING to me the strength that we as human beings can somehow find and dig deep within our souls and fight. We fight to survive.
I know I did. I look back on that summer of 2007 and I do NOT know how I made it. Well I do, I have an amazing husband who gave me all the strength he could lend, amazing family support coming from both sides, wonderful friends, the Savior, my testimony, my faith and the book Tear Drop Soup. My emotions and Tyler's emotions were fried, and it came to the point where you have to decide what to do with your grief, we knew we couldn't be sad forever.
And now I have other people's stories to rely on. Loosing a child is something you just cannot know what it is like until you experience it. I love Karson SO much, and as much as I love him, when I think about Easton I still get sad and I miss him. That will never go away as his mother. Easton was my first experience of a child growing inside of me, of feeling a baby move, of seeing something that I created with the person I love more than anything.
So I thought since the blogs I read give me strength and help my faith to grow, I wanted to create a blog about my experience with loss, and what I have learned from it and in rememberance of Easton. So many of these blogs I have read in one way or another ask the heart wrenching question of " Why?" that is a horrible word sometimes, because the answer is like a never ending circle. Any way I haven't started the blog yet,but I hope my story will help to give other families like ours some comfort, because when you feel like you are the only one who had this happen to you, you most definately or not, and just when you think you have it bad, you hear or someone else who has had it ten times worse than you and is so much stronger than you ever thought a human being could be.

My little sugar bear....

This is a picture of Karson and I when he was probably a month old. My mom took it! When I was looking at it I got sad, because I realized I hardly have any pictures of he and I together!

My mom also took this picture of Karson!

Yesterday morning Karson was all smiles, and I was trying to get good pictures but of course I only got a few. He and I are a lot alike, he is not a very sound sleeper, he can hear noises just like me. When I bring him to work I have to be very careful when I open and close doors and when my work phone rings it wakes him right up. Same thing at home we have to have the TV very quiet if we don't want to wake him up! Takes after mom!

He looks so big in this picture! He loves when I sit him up against pillows! Karson is also like me because he loves to sleep on his stomach. I love this too. Usually when we put him on his stomach he will go right to sleep! It makes me nervous though!

I love this picture of my Happy boy! He is a very good baby. The only time he cries is when his tummy hurts, he is tired, or he doesn't have his food fast enough and that is maybe once or twice a day! My mom keeps telling me how lucky I am, that he is such a good baby! My poor mom had basically 4 out of 5 sick babies all the time!

He has been doing this lately getting his eyes really big when you make a face at him! I love this boy! He is the best little snuggler too!

Fall Scentsy Party....

Hey all! I am going to be having a Fall Scentsy Party, I say " fall" because they have come out with 18 new scents, 11 new warmers and these fabulous Wall Plug-ins that you can use the scent squares with! How awesome would those be for bathrooms!? I know I will be getting some of those! Any way it is going to be on Thursday September 25 at 7:00 at my house and I want you all to come! I will be sending out more formal invitations later, so leave me a comment if you for sure would like me to send you one! My friend Jen is doing the party and she is awesome! I will also have some yummy treats for us to eat! Thanks!

Labor Day Weekend...Coral Canyon

So on Friday at about 1:30 we left to head down to Coral Canyon, my mom and dad and brother Roury were all ready there they got there on Thursday. These are just some random pictures of Karson, but if you can tell he had a scratch between his eyes, he did that himself, because apparently I didn't get him his bottle fast enough and he was getting frustrated. It looks much better now and is almost gone, but I call this his Harry Potter scar...he he
Any way we got down there on Friday at about 5:00 traffic was good and Tyelr drives....fast...and never seems to get caught. Any way we went to In ' N Out burger for dinner. I will say that the cheeseburger was really good, but I don't love the fries. After dinner we went home and go ready to go over to the simming pool

This picture is in the wrong place, but on Saturday night we went to the this Mongolian BBQ place we always go to. Kaili likes it and check her out eating with chopsticks. That is how she ate her whole meal of noodles, sauce and carrots.

Back to the pool, Ty and Roury were so excited for all of the football they would be watching Saturday that at the pool they were playing all kinds of games with the football. They got the black intertube and held it up so each of them could try and throw the football through the whole, I think Ty got three in a row. Good job honey! And GO BYU!

Isn't Tyler cute? :)

Karson LOVES to take baths so I figure putting his feet in the water wouldn't bother him and it did not, I am sure he would have loved to be in the pool if we had one of those baby floating things for him, but we did not, plus the water wasn't THAT warm because we went at about 7:30 at night and it was a little over cast.

Gramma and Karson!

Kaili in the water, she loves to swim and they have a perfect little kids pool she had it all to herself.

The Harry Potter scar picture. SO saturday the boys went golfing and my mom and I hung out with the kids and then went to Chili's for lunch, I had a chicken salad that did not sit well with my stomach. We went to the children's place and I was able to get a few things, they had the cutest kid Halloween costumes, but didn't buy one because they weren't that cheap! Then we went home and my stomach was still not feeling well, but we left Kaili and Karson with the boys and my mom and I ran to Old Navy and Wal Mart and my mom got all of Kaili's Christmas shopping finished. We were going to try and go see a movie but nothing really good was playing. So my stomach was still hurting so my mom and I watched this movie called " Montana" based on a book by Nora Roberts, it was good. Then we went to the Mongolian BBQ I was feeling better so I ate, but right after I was done, I was NOT feeling so well. My stomach was cramping and hurting really bad and in the car my back started aching badly. So we got home and I pretty much went to bed, Tyler stayed in the other room with Karson and Roury slept on the couch, so Ty was a trooper and took care of Karson all night for me so I could sleep. I felt a little better Sunday but even today I am not feeling 100%.
Sunday we stayed at home and hung out my cousins Erika and Michael were also in St.George this weekend so they came by and hung for a little while with us, it was good to see them. So it was a pretty good weekend, minus the feeling sick part! Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay with you and for a great weekend!

This is the view from my parents back yard! Pretty and I love the orange sand!
