Elmo Party Details

YAY! Karson's Elmo party was fantastic! Thanks to everyone who helped set up, take down, clean up, bake, and support me and Ty and Karson for this whole birthday bash! We really appreciate it! I was hoping Kars would still be into Elmo by the time it was his party and he definately was! It made me feel so good that he would tell everyone " Elmo 2" when ever he would hear the word birthday or party, he knew what was coming and he loved every second of it, from the food, the water balloon toss, the cupcakes, the presents, the people he loved it all! Obviously we can't do big parties like this every year, but it sure was fun to plan and host!
I used my moms cutter thing ( can't remember what it is called) to cut out these balloons and just stuck Elmo stickers on them, bucket is from the $1 store.

Elmo crepe paper found at Party City

Elmo balloon weight also found at Party City

Cute little drink station

These fabulous straws I found at " Think Garnish" I have a blog link for them....

Our fabulous cupcakes....don't you just love the cookie monster ones? I loved how they turned out, and they tasted pretty dang good too!

I Just bought these $1 plastic table cloths at the Dollar Store as well, and used stickers to decorate them with as well as these little Elmo books for 50 cents each

Cute Elmo boxes to hold the ketchup, relish and mustard....

Sucker station as Karson loves suckers...

Plates and napkins....cute!
My " Karson's World" banner I made instead of an Elmo's World, I loved how this turned out, simple but cute!

Since Elmo has a pet goldfish Dorothy I thought it would be cute to make these mini fish bowls for party favors!

Karson Birthday 6/19/2010/Fathers Day

We went to my cousin Tara's little boys birthday party on Saturday as well. He and Karson are only a day apart, and Tara is the one who watches Kars for me once a week, so Eli and Karson are friends, as long as they don't want the same toy... ha ha. She rented a bounce house and made some very yummy chicken salad sandwiches! I am dumb and didn't get any pictures, she did the theme Curious George and it was very cute!

So since Saturday was Karson's "real" birthday we thought we would let him open his presents from Ty and I, so he wouldn't be so overwhelmed at his party this Saturday, and plus it was his birthday. So after we got home from the Carnival, we let him open some presents! At first he didn't seem too interested but then once he opened the first one he was loving it!
He loves farm animals and loved his puzzle, he is making this face because he wanted me to open it right then.

He of course loved his real basketball and didn't want to let it go, while opening the other presents, he was very concerned where it was at all times.

Having Grandpa Larry be a hoop so Kars could shoot the ball in!

Daddy working hard on putting his bike together the fast! This bike is so cute, it makes sounds when he turns on his blinker and flashes lights, it has music and other stuff, he loves it!

Sunday was a busy day as well. I had plans to make Tyler breakfast and the corn tortillas I bought have magically disappeared. I make a very yummy egg, salsa, cream cheese and corn tortilla breakfast burrito. I was very upset I couldn't make the breakfast I wanted, instead he got toast and chocolate milk, sorry babe. I will make it soon. We headed over to hear Tyler's sister Megan sing in her Sacrement Meeting she sang a song about Fathers and did a great job! Then we had some lasagna at Tyler's parents, yummers! We had a delicious desert of ice cream, dark fudge brownies and dark chocolate hot fudge, SO SO good!
Then we went over to my parents, they were just getting back from driving home from the U.S. Open so they were all pretty tired! Ty grilled up some mean hot dogs, Kaili ate two whole hotdogs and buns, I couldn't believe it! We had rootbeer floats and then left so everyone could go to bed early. Happy Fathers Day to Tyler! Thank you for all you do for our family! We love and appreciate you so much! Happy Fathers Day to my Dad, thank you for all of your love and support! Happy Fathers Day to Larry, thank you for all of your love and support as well! I am surrounded by remarkable men, and I feel blessed to have each of them in my life!

Kars and Chalese on Sunday!

South Jordan Country Fest 6/19/2010

We wanted to run over to the South Jordan Country Fest, Karson saw all the rides being set up and wanted to go, so I thought it would be fun for him and Kaili to go on some rides on his birthday. We were also going there to see if my mom had placed in an Art show she entered in, turned out we were at the wrong place, but Bethanie and Johnny were able to make it over to the correct location. I was surprised Kars went on the rollercoaster, once it started going he wasn't too sure about it, but he stayed sitting down ( thank goodness) and we got him off in one piece. Kaili is a pro at rides, after Space Mountain at Disneyland, nothing can get her scared! :)
Kars was so cute on this one he was making " vroom vroom" sounds the whole time.

Kaili loves this one cause you are sitting in a big strawberry it was very hot inside that thing, Kars and I weren't big fans!

Tyler caught about a foot of air going down this slide, it was pretty crazy! Tyler hates these carnival things because they are dirty and pretty ghetto! The people that work them are interesting to say the least, but I think they are fun and there is always something crazy going on at them.

Running with Angels 5K 6/19/2010

So I came across this race through a website and I started reading about it and felt like this is something I would like to do, and keep it a tradition of doing it every year. Pamela Hansen is the chair woman of this race, she herself has lost two children and battled weight issues and then has run a few marathons. So a lot of people who have lost infants participate in this race, but it can also be for any loss you have experienced. It was a very emotional experience for me but it felt good to be a part of something like that. My sis Beth came and cheered me on as well as Kay. Tara ran it with me as well as my cousin Linda!
Bethanie was waiting for me at the finish line to get a picture, but she missed me, so I ran back and did a " fake" passing over the finish line! I know she felt bad she missed me, but I was just glad she was there. This course was HARD, there were lots of inclines and hills, and the last part you have to run up this steep hill. I was very happy with my time, I thought I was like 5 minutes behind what I was. I am not a fast, brilliant runner, I have never claimed to be, but it still felt good to push myself for my limitations.

Me and Linda!

Tara, Lind and I after the race!

Kay and I! Even tho I got up at 5 am on Saturday and wasn't in bed until about 11 and them up at 6 on Sunday, this race was worth it. Thanks for all the support from everyone in your words and thoughts!

Friday 6/18/2010

Friday morning Kars and I got up and met Kay over at Mimi's Cafe, I had a buy one get one free coupon, and thought we should go there and use it up since she had watched Karson for me 4 times in a two week period, one being a sleepover, and come to find out Kay has had walking pnemonia (sp) for a MONTH! She is feeling lots better now, but anyway I wanted to say thanks and so we enjoyed a yummy breakfast! Kars and I were headed up to get Kaili, but it was a little early so we went on the " choo choo" ride at South Towne mall and then played in the dinosaur play area for a bit.
We got Kaili and when we got hom Kaili asked if we could put up the swimming pool! My nice neighbor Lisa let me break into her garage to get her cool electric pump that I can hook up to my car and it blows up the pool very nicely. The kids had a blast and it was fun to watch them enjoy a summer afternoon. Kars and Ty were heading to our wards Father and Sons with Ty's dad and grandpa! Tyler said Karson had a great time! He slept very well through the night and bonded with some of the great men in his life!
Kaili and I went to dinner at TGIF's with Kay, Megan and Chalese, then we ran over to Costco, then back to Kays to do some crafts! It was a fun yet busy night!

My baby is turning 2!!!!!

June 19, 2008 my sweet little guy finally arrived after 21 hours of labor, epidurals that wouldn't work, and back spasms like you wouldn't believe! I was exhausted beyond belief. But it was all worth it, every pain, every time my hips popped and felt like they had been beaten with a hammer, every shot I received once a week, every fear I had of losing another baby was all worth it, because I was blessed with another angel. Karson was the BEST baby, both my mom and mom-in-law couldn't believe how well behaved he was. I would say his biggest issue as a baby was his sleeping habits, he never really slept through the night, until he was about 18 months. He had jaundice, trouble nursing, 9 ear infections in a row, then tubes in his ears, lots of bumps, falls and scrapes, FINALLY off the bottle, only rolled off the bed once! But other than all the minor things we have been lucky to not have anything to major happen to him so far.
Karson has always been obsessed with balls, as soon as he could sit up by himself he was playing with balls. He can throw a baseball, hit it with a bat, pitch the ball to himself by throwing it up in the air and then hit it, (seriously he does this all the time)shoot a basketball and 9 out of 10 times he is going to make it. He can hit a golf ball, throw a football and kick a soccer ball. Strangers will come up to me after watching Karson and tell me what good hand/eye coordination he has. I will be GREATLY surprised if he doesn't grow up to be an athlete. Karson loves cars and books, he will sit with me for a very long time and look at books, he loves to be outside, ride bikes, blow bubbles, run around with his dad. He loves Elmo and Baby Einstein. He loves to sing with me, and it is the cutest thing ever, I almost cry every time we sing together, he also loves to dance!

Karson has a special relationship with his Grandparents both McDermott and Fankhauser. He loves them SO much. His Grandpas are two of his favorite people and his Grandmas are his second mom. He has all 4 of them wrapped around his little finger! Karson loves his sister Kaili so much, it about breaks our hearts when he cries when she has to go to her other home. Karson loves his Daddy, even though Tyler feels bad since mostly Karson wants me. But I know Karson loves Tyler, you can see it on his face when they wrestle and play balls or watch a sporting event on TV together, he loves his dad and I know the older Karson gets the more time they will spend together!

I know Karson loves me too, he now calls me Mommy instead of just Mama and it is so cute. He runs to me whenever he is sad, points to me and says mom, points to himself and then to the ground to sit down by me.He will cuddle me all the time, and I know he misses me when I am not with him. We have a special relationship and I hope we will always have that connection.

Karson was a huge blessing and a gift to Tyler and I. I became pregnant with him very fast after we lost Easton. And it helped to ease the pain we were trying to recover from over Easton. Karson can count, say most of the colors, sing lots of songs, make farm animal noises, and he is a very good eater! Some of his favorites include, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, ramen noodles, purple grapes, apples, pbj sandwiches, Pringles chedder chips, lime popsicles, lasagna, ravioli, Wingers french fries, ketchup and popcorn! I love this kid so much and cannot imagine my life with out him! Happy Birthday Baby Boy! You are growing up so fast and I love you every second of every hour of every day of my life!
Love,
Mommy

Jerry Sienfield Show 6/11/2010

This past Friday Ty and I went and saw Jerry Sienfield, I kept it a secret from him for like 6 weeks and was so proud of myself that I didn't spill the beans earlier. I had heard on the radio that he was coming to town, so I called my good friend Jenn to see if she and her hubby would want to come to, and she said yes! We both surprised our guys and gave the tickets to them as thier Fathers Day gift! The show did not disappoint! Bethanie came over on Friday during her lunch break to curl my hair, because we all know I can't do it like that myself!
Jenn and I before the show! LOVE her! I have been friends with her since I was 16 so 12 years, and she is honestly one of the best people I know.

Ty and I
And us again! The show was HALARIOUS! It was cool, because Jerry came out at the end and answered questions from the audience, someone asked him if he would ever do another sitcom and he said " You know I am just going to be honest with you guys, I am old, I am rich, and I am tired." That could be considered conceited, but we all know it's true! He is 56 years old and has a 9,7 and 4 year old. After the show we went to PF Changs for dinner, it was way yummy, lettuce wraps and honey shrimp! YUMMERS! It was a way fun night! Thank Kay and Larry for having a sleepover with Karson, so we could have a night out on the town!
