McDermott Family Party December 26th

We had my family party on Saturday night of the 26th. I feel bad because I don't think I have any pictures of anything. We weren't quite complete because Luke and Fernanda's family wasn't able to make it due to Kyle being in the hospital that week. We are glad Kyle is home safe and sound, but missed them at the party. My mom read us a Christmas story and we sang Silent Night in spanish, portuguese, italian and english. It really brought the spirit of Christmas in. We had a yummy dinner of ham, potatoes, carrots, salad and rolls. My mom made homemade hotfudge for dessert with ice cream. We played Family Feud, and another game Bethanie and Johnny got called " pass the popcorn" it's a movie game and lots of fun! I love Christmas parties with family they are the best.

My Christmas...

Tyler really spoiled me this year. He asked me awhile ago if I would want some nice jewlery for Christmas and I told him I wanted whatever he wanted to give me. I had no idea what he was planning. Well Christmas evening before our Fankhauser family party at his Grandma's he really wanted me to open a gift, it was a very pretty set of pearls, a necklace, earings and bracelet. I will take a picture of them and post it. It was such a sweet gift and they mean so much to me. Tyler's sisters work at JC Penny so he got a KILLER deal on them. I love them, and I love them even more because he picked them out for me. He also surprised me with a very cute new, pink wallet and a cute shirt he picked out! I got some new flats, a book, The Proposal, and 2 Elvis movies on DVD! I loved watching the Elvis movies on channel 11 growing up. :) I got some new lip gloss, and 2 shirts and a skirt ( that I got in Park City at the outlets).

From my parents I got a cute purple purse, a new coat, a book and some earrings! I know I should have pictures of them on here, but I Don't! I will, I was so bad with the camera this year!

Larry and Kay got me a pannini grill, a black purse, a lazy susan for veggies and dips, some very cute black boots, a recipe stand holder, a cute head band and beaded watch that was in my stocking!

I truly feel that I got very spoiled this year and feel lucky to have some wonderful family in my life! I know Christmas isn't all about presents, but it sure is fun to give and get! :)

Karson's Christmas

This is a picture of the two farm sets Kars got for Christmas, one from his Great Grandma Fankhauser, and the bigger one from LArry and Kay. He loves them!
Here is my baby smiling at some books! He loves books, this is his new chair he got too

Trying to get Kars to open some presents, but hejust wanted to play

Kars in his sweet car my parents gave him for Christmas! He loved it! They also gave Kaili a very cute purple and pink suitcase that she loves and hauls all of her new toys around in it! They gave her some clothes, gloves, and a little doll thing, and some mini barbie food and accessories. Rylee and Katie gave Kaili some Strawberry shortcake pencils lip stick ,and a doll, she loves it! Bethanie and Johnny gave her a Hannah Montana Barbie that sings, and some cute socks, she loves it all! Thanks guys! Karson got a new truck from Bethanie and Johnny and Rylee and Katie gave him a book and a whale bath toy, which he also loves!

Here is Karson in his new toy that he loves! This kid is OBSESSED with balls, I am serious, if he doesn't grow up to love sports, I just won't get it! :) Ty and I are so glad that he loves this so much, Ty put it together while he was taking a nap and we brought him downstairs when he woke up, he saw it, his eyes lit up and he was smiling and pointing and saying ball, ball, ball, cutest thing ever!

I wanted to say a special thanks to Ty for putting Karson's car together for him on Christmas night, Kaili's stroller and this blow up doll thing. You are such a great Dad Ty! We love you so much!

Celebrating Christmas morning December 26th

This year we waited to celebrate Christmas morning with Kaili on the 26th. Ty went and picked her up and they got home around 10:30ish. She was excited, Karson however was more interested in throwing balls up and down the stairs which is something he could do for hours on end. These are Kaili's " Christmas Eve" pj's
Karson LOVED looking at this box which is great because it was his main present from Santa, he loves it!
Kars opening his key board from Kaili
Kaili and I, she was gettingready to open her swim baby, the one thing she kept saying that she wanted for Christmas...
Ty with his BYU blanket I surprised him with!

Kaili with the swim baby. It's pretty cool and can swim forward and even do the backstroke

Ty with papa looking at his puzzle he just openend.
Kaili and I with the jewlery box I gave her.

Yes I know, Kaili's stocking looks huge, and that is because it is. I love buying her little things for her stockings, and I know that is one of her favorite parts about Christmas morning, so it is a lot of fun for me. We had a great Christmas, it felt a little rushed and jumbled to me because Karson wasn't interested in opening his presents at all, he plays with them all and I know he loves his new things, I jut thought he would want to play with them more. Kaili got her water baby, a book, her new jewlery box, ice cream playdough set, Hannah Montana DVD, and High School Musical, a tinkerbell blanket, Guess Who the game, which she loves, and a bunch of things in her stocking.

Karson got this Whinnie the pooh rider thing which he loves! He also got some new books, BYU balls, which he LOVES and has to have one of them at all times, his ball play pit thing, a new chair to sit on since he always wants Kaili's and more balls! :)

Sunday December 27th..

Sunday the 27th we had a Fankhauser Christmas party. We were also doing family pictures that day as well. We had a roast, mashed potaotes, rolls, veggies, jello and my famous salald that everyone loves! Well it's really my mom's famous salad, I just make it all the time now! :)

Kaili got to open her presents. Nick and Amanda got her a cute watch set, because that is what she kept telling Amanda she wanted for Christmas, thanks guys! Then Larry and Kay got her some clothes, a kid lap top that has games on it and a Hello Kitty gum ball machine and water dispenser. I meant to take pictures of that but haven't yet, I will so I can post them.

We played the Family Feud game I made for my family party and had a lot of fun.

Fankhauser Family Pictures

This Sunday we had some family pictures taken. It's hard to get all us Fankhausers together at one time, and this past Sunday it actually happened. Amanda's mom Kat took the pictures for us and she did a great job. Kay really wanted the snow for the back ground, and I have to say the snow makes the pictures look really pretty.

Yes I know this picture is sideways, my stupid computer won't open up the file so I can turn the picture, I just like this one so I put it on any way

Most of the pictures turned out cute, there were a few of me, that I was NOT happy with, and it just made me realize I better get my butt in gear and drop 20 pounds by summer time, because I wasn't happy with how I looked in some of them! :)So it will just give me motivation to get going!

The Princess and The Frog

Kaili and I were able to go see this movie on Saturday with some of the Fankhauser girls, Kay, Amanda, Shy and Emeri were able to come with us and it was a lot of fun. I Loved the movie, it was funny, witty, good story and great music! I think Kaili enjoyed it too, it might have been a little long for her, but for the most part she enjoyed it! After the movie we met up with the guys and Larry and Chalese at Red Robin for lunch. It was very yummy! We went home and Ty helped Kaili make a gingerbread house, I wasn't a good Mom and didn't take any pictures, I don't know why! I watched the movie My Sisters Keeper, I had no idea what the movie was about, and thought it was quite interesting. Sunday we had a family dinner at the Fankhausers for Nick's birthday, it was very yummy!

Christmas Karson

It has been so fun for me this year to watch Christmas through Karson's eyes. He loves everything about it. And every morning when he wakes up we go downstairs and he wants me to turn out this Christmas manger thing we have that lights up, then turn on the Christmas tree lights, then turn on the night light Santa, then turn on my ipod with Christmas music playing. When we eat dinner he has to have all of the lights on as well. It's the cutest thing ever and I am so excited for Christmas!
He also has been really good about our Christmas tree, he doesn't pull anything off, if anything if an ornament falls off, he tries to put it back on. SO cute!

Sing, Sing, Sing.....

Around Christmas time I always get nostolgic about when I used to sing all the time. I started taking singing lessons when I was in 5th grade. I loved every second of it. I started performing all over the place, County Fairs, 4th of July fairs, The Dickens Festivel, the malls, the 49th Street Galleria, Lagoon, The Scarecrow Festivel, Raging Waters, I took two trips to California and sang at Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland Hotel, it was SO MUCH fun! I sang at school and at church a lot. I miss performing and that feeling of anxiety right before you step on stage. I have never claimed to be the best singer ever, but feel I can carry a tune. :) The older I get I feel like that talent is slowly slipping away from me. It makes me sad when I think about, life gets so hectic and crazy, so where is a 27 year old mom going to sing at? No where really.

They don't do the Dickens Festivel anymore, but I loved going to that. They would have a bunch of little shops set up and all different kinds of food! It always put me in the Christmas spirit. Last night I was just really thinking about this for some reason, I almost started crying I miss it so much! At least Karson loves my voice and when I sing to him, he will try to sing with me! :)

Company Christmas Party! I got spoiled...

Friday December 4 was our annual company Christmas party and as always, my parents out did themselves. This year it was an italian themed party. We started off with some yummy appetizers, cheeses, crackers, artichoke hearts, truffles and these yummy cocunt creme things, that were seriously SO good! We then had yummy bread dipped in vinegar and oil with fresh parmesean cheese. Then we had a capresse salad, with fresh mozzerella! ( Lindsey if you are reading this, I thought of you because I knew you would love this food) any way, then my dad made his famous carbonara, and broccoli. So good! Then we had lasagna (so good) and a pork roast, that was very good as well, Ty LOVED that. We were so stuffed that we didn't even eat the apples, cheese and salami and grapes until the very end of the night. For dessert my parents got italian ice cream and a cookie, all so delicious! We also drank some italian soda!

The sad thing was that Luke and Fernanda were at the hospital hoping to have a baby so they missed the party, we all felt really bad they weren't there! Fernanda is still pregnant, they are at the Dr. today and hope to have some good news.

After dinner we played a fun game that Bethanie and Johnny made for us for the movie Home Alone. Ty and I were SURE we were going to get first place, but we were beated by Rich and his wife 26 to 24! Oh well we still got 2nd place with a $25 gift card to the movies and a really fun basket of Italian crackers, cheeses and a bunch of other stuff! We also got a cute santa decoration, a gift with italian candies and cookies, a new game and a cute clock!

Also my dad has us do a putting competition at work, I had a total of 61 which put me at first place for the girls so I got $20 and then I also had 4 daily highs and I got a $5.50 movie gift card for each daily high!

I feel so lucky and thankful to be able to work for my dad. With the government we don't know what will happen with the business in the next couple of years, but I have worked here for almost ten years! I have learned a lot and grown a lot, and I am thankful for the opportunity I have had. Thanks mom and dad for such a great night! It was FABULOUS!
