Sneak Peak: Elmo's World Birthday Party

So I am doing an Elmo's/Karson's World Birthday party for Karson this year. I am very excited about it and I think it will turn out great. Yesterday my mom-in-law and sis-in-law Meggie, helped me with the Cicuit and made these CUTE napkin ring holders! I also made a very cute banner that says " Karsons World" I always see cute things on other people's blogs and I have wanted to try and make some homemade things for awhile! I am very happy with how they turned out!

I can't believe my sweet Karson will be 2 in less than a month!

Karson!

Karson got a hair cut last week so I thought I would put some updated pictures of him up. He is getting to be so big! He looks so old when he gets his hair cut! I can't believe he will be 2 in less than a month!

Karson loves to find anything he can in Kaili's room, the other day he found her hair clips and insisted on putting them in his hair, he kept pulling them out as soon as I would put them in, but then want them back in again. After he got bored of them in his hair he proceeded to put them into his bears ears!

Books, Books and more Books!

I love reading! I love it! I wish I could read a book a week, but yeah right that won't happen for at least another 20 years! However I have read some books lately and have many in the waiting! I got Just Take My Heart at Costco, for $4.25 and it was a great book! Many of you know I love Mary Higgins Clark, but I thought she did an excellent job with this one. I would recommend it to you all!
Ty gave me this one for Mother's Day and I am currently reading it right now, so far it is great, as usual! I think I have decided I would like to one day own, the hard back version of all of Mary Higgins Clark's books. Along with I really want a hard back special edition of To Kill A Mocking Bird...ok I am getting carried away....any way

I recently stumbled upon this book through SHARE parents of Utah, which is a support group for parents who have lost thier children due to pre-term birth, still born babies or loss of a young baby under 3 months. The woman who wrote this book, has lost two children over the course of her life, and at one point was obese, weighing 100 pounds more than she should. She wrote this book about her journey with life's challenges and losing her 100 pounds to run a marathon. She has since ran 3 marathons. I am hopefully doing a 5K in June at Thanksgiving Point that she is in charge of. It's called " Running with Angels". I haven't read this book, it is on my list though!

Rylee & Katie gave me this book for my birthday, I have started, but I am not very far into it yet, so I don't have a solid opinion about this book yet.

This is the sequel to the book Wings, that I really enjoyed! I bought this one with some birthday money I had, and can't wait to get started on it.

This is also in my waiting list, everyone says it's so good, so I can't wait to start this one! I need another book shelf for my collection of books! I think I am also starting to develop an addiction to cook books! I love em!

Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner

Last year I tried making some meatballs, they turned out disgusting! Dry, over seasoned, and when I say over seasoned, I mean they tasted like a salt ball! Any way I found this recipe, on a new blog, I came across. http://annies-eats.com/2009/04/19/spaghetti-and-meatballs/ Tyler and I loved it! The sauce is amazing and the meatballs were so good! And it was quite easy to make! The only thing I did different, was I didn't let the sauce simmer for two hours. It was probably only 1, and the meatballs took about 40 mins to cook in the sauce! Try it, you won't be sorry!

Target Tuesday

This picture was not taken at Target, but might as well have been, because this is how my sweet angel boy was acting at Target. First of all Karson is against shopping carts of all kinds, now days unless it is the little ones the kids can push at the grocery store. So he threw a fit while I was trying to put him in the cart, well of course he wanted to stand in the actual cart, yes I know this is a big no no, but I wasn't going to be very long....

So I put a few things in my cart, one of those items included a double set of Old Spice Body Wash for Tyler, well as I was walking along minding my business I noticed it had started to smell like soap...the lid of the body wash was broken and had seeped all over the cart, all over Karson's shoes, and pants, all the while Karson was thinking this was a fun slippery game. So I of course had to take Karson OUT Of the cart, which he loved, because he was now free to run around, which he of course did, slipping a few times due to the soap on the bottom of his shoes. Not to mention the soap leaked onto some items I had on the bottom of my cart.

So my hands are full of my items and Karson decides to go #2 in his diaper, I of course do not have the diaper bag with me in the store!

I pay for my things, and go outside, it is pouring rain, Karson has a very messy diaper and he decides to start sprinting across the parking lot, he is laughing thinking he is so funny, and it is not so funny to me! I grab him after chasing him pretty far, put him in the car and proceed to change his messy diaper in the car, in the rain, I had no other option. Yes I could have grabbed the diaper bag, walked into Target through the rain and chased Karosn, but that would have added an extra 20 mins onto my day.

Finished with the diaper and we run into Barnes and Noble, because I had some birthday money telling me to buy a new book. I love Barnes and Noble, I could spend hours there looking around, however taking an almost 2 year old there, didn't work out so well, he started pulling the $25 toys off the shelves, legos, clocks, games, books anything he could find.

People starting to stare at me, I grab the book I need, haul him up to the front, and pay, he wants down, so he starts going behind the counter, where the workers are! Sigh! Go out in the rain again, put him in his car seat, all the while he is throwing a fit. He cried for about 10 mins straight and my nerves were wound up pretty tight. He finally calmed down and the rest of the day was fine, ecspecially when Karson pats the bed, and wants me to lay beside him while watching Elmo! I do love him so much, but some days are just shall we say " busier" than others! :)

Mothers Day

I had a great Mothers Day weekend! Saturday I went to the gym and had a great work out. We went to Wingers for lunch, and then we came home and put Karson down for a nap and I was just resting my eyes for a moment and ended up sleeping for almost about 3 hours! It was a much needed nap as last week was a very emotionally draining week for me. I was out cold!Saturday night we watched the Jazz LOSE! As you can see above Sunday morning Tyler made me the best omlette ever! It was so good. He is so fantastic at making eggs! And avacados on top of eggs is my new favorite thing!

Tyler and Karson gave me some pretty flowers, a new book I wanted and a book light! YAY! Books are one of my favorite gifts to receive and I have wanted a book light for a long time! I feel so blessed to be a mom to Karson and Kaili and of course my sweet Easton. Mothers Day is bitter sweet, because I always think about Easton. I wore his necklace and braclet yesterday and my thoughts drifted toward him through out the whole day.
Thank you Tyler and Karson for making my day so great!

Elmo is for red...Coookie Monster is for blue....

Yesterday Karson and I were playing in his ball play pit toy that he got for Christmas. He loves to watch the balls slide down the slide. I picked up a green ball and said "green" he then picked up a green ball to show me green. We started doing that for all the different colors, when I got to red, he picked up a purple ball, so I picked up another ball and said " no red like Elmo"as soon as I said Elmo it clicked in his mind and he started gathering all the red balls putting them down the slide, saying " Elmo, Elmo" it was so cute! I love how bright kids are and how quick they pick up things. So Yellow became big bird, green became Oscar the grouch and blue became cookie monster! The kid loves Sesame Street!

28th Birthday!

I had a great 28th birthday! I got spoiled and was able to have a lot of fun! Friday night my parents watched Kaili and Karson and Ty and I went and saw "Date Night" in my opinion it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It had some funny parts, but I didn't love it. Then after we went to Texas Roadhouse, we had to wait 1 hour to eat, but it was worth it! The food tasted So yummy to me! Thanks Kay and Larry for my delicious birthday dinner! Tyler's parents always give us $50 for our birthdays, and I also got a cupcake stand from them, I have wanted one of those forever! Saturday I got to go get a pedicure with the gift certificate Tyler gave me for Valentines Day! It was so nice and relaxing! After that, Ty and the kids picked me up and we went home and I opened up my presents from them.
I got a new crock pot! I have really wanted a new one for a long time, the one I have is only a 4qt one and the one I got is 6 qt and has a digital timer! I got the DVD Austraila, a pedometer that will keep track of my steps, distance and calories burned, and it starts over every 7 days. I got some headbands to work out in, a new game called The Game of Things, and some money to go towars an itune gift card. They also gave me a very sweet card. After opening presents we went to lunch at Chili's! I was craving thier queso and it was so yummy.

After lunch we came home and put Karson down for a nap and we watched FAME, I had wanted to see that for a long time, it too was just ok. After nap time we went and got my " birthday cake" at Leatherby's, SO SO GOOD! Then we went to Roberts and I spent my $50 from Kay and Larry on scrapbook stuff that I needed! It was such a nice day! Karson hasn't been sleeping good the past couple of nights so Ty and I were pretty tired.

Yesterday we had my birthday dinner with Tyler's family. I asked for grilled shrimp and Ty's dad is a master on the grill and it was so, so good! There was fruit, veggies, potatoes, rolls, everything! Then Kay made me a homemade apple pie, it too was delicious! Thank you so much for the great lunch!

Last Sunday at my parents house we celebrated my birthday and Johnny's birthday! My parents gave me new pillows for my couches, a new dress, earings, and a new white jacket. Luke and Fernanda gave me a gift card to Target ( which I have already used), Rylee & Katie gave me some scrapbook supplies and the book Peace Like A River, Bethanie & J0hnny gave me a gift card to Forever 21.
For " Administrative Professionals Day" my Dad gave us a $50 American Express card, I was able to use that to buy some new spring clothes from Target. So I feel like I have definetly been spoiled these past couple of weeks. I am so thankful for all the birthday wishes I received from my family and friends! I can't believe I am 28! I think this will be a great year for me and my cute little family! Thank you Tyler for all of your efforts to make my birthday so special, it really was a fabulous day!
