Christmas with Kaili 12/26/07

We got Kaili this year on 12/26/07 so Ty and I took the day off to spend with her. She had a fun filled day of opening presents and she loved every single one of them. I think her favorite one is her new baby stroller that I didn't even get a picture of! She also really liked her new doll and her " Hair" chair that is like Grandma Bonnie's and she can do all of her babies hair in the chair! She also loved opening her stocking and liked all of the little presents she found in it! Merry Christmas everyone..until next year!

Kaili's Barbie House

Grandma Kay and Grandpa Larry made Kaili this barbie house for christmas! They worked really hard on it, and Kaili was pretty surprised and thought it was lots of fun. She escpecially likes the attic with the little doors and wanted to keep hiding things in it. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all of your hardwork, Kaili will enjoy this for many years to come!

Christmas Eve 2007

This was on Christmas Eve. Tyler and I decided to sleep at my parents house one last time, since this year Christmas Eve was a little hard for us, because we were looking forward to having a one month old baby keeping us up with his crying at night around this time! And we also didn't have Kaili so we thought why not sleep at my parents house. Christmas Eve was a full day, we went over to Tyler's parents house in the morning and played cards with his brother and his wife. We then ate some lasagna and salad and garlic bread, that was very yummy, Thanks Kay! Then we opened presents. I got a new purse, really soft robe, two pairs of brown shoes, one casual, one dressy, new pajamas, a necklace, a sweater and two shirts. Thanks Kay and Larry for my great gifts. We then played a really fun game with his family called Loaded Questions, and then we went and met my parents at the movie and saw National Treasure 2 it was really good. We then went back to my parents house and ate some food and talked and went to bed around midnight! Oh those presents we are holding are our pajamas!

Sunday December 23, 2007

Sunday we had our annual McDermott Family Christmas party, with just my brothers and sisters and mom and dad. It was a lot of fun. We had a very nice dinner, played games, read the Christmas story, and openend some presents. We were sad, because Kaili couldn't be there, but it is a fun family tradition that we do every year! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa McD!

Kaili got to celebrate Christmas a little early with my mom and dad. My parents do our family party every December 23, and this year since we get Kaili the day after Christmas my parents thought it would be fun to let Kaili open her presents from them a little early, since the 26th we will be doing Christmas with her, and Tyler's parents will bring her gifts from them as well. She was so excited to open some presents! My parents gave her these two cute little baby dolls, as Kaili LOVES any kind of doll. She also got a Dr.'s Kit, that she LOVES. She played it all night and was even writing fake prescriptions and sending me to the "pharmacy" She also got a Hello Kitty DVD, and the primary CD's, because she LOVES listening to music. She also got a dolly outfit for her dolls, and she kept saying, "Isn't this outfit so cute?" It was so funny. Then my mom gave her a way cute outfit, a leaopard print pleated skirt, headband, brown jacket (the jacket is the one she is wearing for her pre-school party) and then a cream shirt. My mom also made her this way cute ABC book. Each page has a letter of the alphabet and pictures of our family relating to that letter, and then pictures of other things my mom found on the computer. It is very creative and educational! Thanks mom and dad! Kaili loves you both so much!

Pre-School Christmas Party

Kaili had her pre-school Christmas party on the 18th, and my mom and I were able to drive her up there and attend with her. She had been looking forward to this party all weekend long. When we first got there, her class sang some songs for us. Kaili was singing the loudest and knew all of the words! She loves to sing! And I love that. She is very mature for her class, she is so ready to be a sunbeam in January! Any way after they sang they did the Pledge of Alligence, which was very cute. Then they had three tables set up for us to rotate with each of them. One table had a story and elf finger puppets to color and make, one table, we made a marshmellow snowman, Kaili kept stealing skittles from the bag and eating them. It was very funny! Then she made a hand beard Santa Claus, my mom actually made these cards with Kaili a couple of weeks ago, so when she saw them, she already knew what to do. It was a lot of fun being there with her, and watching her in her school atmosphere. Next year she will put on a program at night, which should be lots of fun! Merry Christmas!

We had my work Christmas party last night at my mom and dads house. It was a really fun night. My mom had it catered and we had rolls, carrotts and broccoli, beef tenderloin and some potatoes. It was really good. The best part though was my mom made her famous spinach salad and special dressing , so yummy! They also had some yummy chocolate cake for dessert! We played some Christmas trivia and Tyler and I won a cute Christmas decoration. Then every year they have us watch a Christmas movie on our own time, and they quiz us about the movie. Ty and I got 4th place and won the dvd Christmas with the Cranks. My dad also gives out nice Christmas bonuses the day of the party, which is very nice! Mine is going towards some baby bedding and our Hawaii trip in 2009! It was a great night and I feel so thankful and blessed to have such a great employer as well as a great mom and dad!

So decorating a Christmas tree is definetly a talent that some people have, I am not one of those people. But in the end I thought my tree turned out ok, but compared to my moms or some of my friends, it is pretty sad! Oh well! Tyler put the lights on our little tree outside and those look really good at night time. I can't believe there are only 20 more days until Christmas! I keep thinking of all these Christmas movies, I need to make sure I watch before Christmas!

Here are some family pictures we took for our annual Christmas card. I wasn't feeling well at ALL that day and Kaili was being a pill because we were outside and it was cold! So here are a few of them!

This weekend was jam packed. We got Kaili on Friday night, and I did some heavy deep cleaning while Tyler and Kaili played. Then Saturday we got up and cleaned some more and then went to Grandma B0nnies to eat Subway and watch the BYU game. Keith and Kyle were there so Kaili got to play with them. Kyle is doing very well and they think all the cancer is gone. Then Saturday night we went and saw The Bee Movie, Tyler and I really liked it, Kaili liked it but I think she was tired, because she hadn't had a nap that day so she was getting bored. Then we went and ate dinner at Red Robin, and met Tyler's parents there and his brother Matt and his wife Shy and his sister Megan. We had HORRIBLE service, and it was just one thing after another, finally I couldnt' take it anymore and I ended up talking to the manager and she comped our whole meal, so we got dinner for free that night! Kaili loves to play dress up. Last year for Christmas my mom gave her a treasure chest that had different clothes in it. Kaili loves to play with all of that stuff! She also has a blue dress and a purple dress!

Our little Angel. We love you.
I can't believe that 4 months ago is when I had Easton. July 10 sometimes seems like a decade ago and then sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday, I got to my hold my baby in my arms for that short while. This week is a hard week for me. I have been keeping very busy at work, but in the back of my mind, I know the pain is hiding. I have been trying to focus on my blessings and what I do have, because I know I am so blessed, and there are other women out there who have it a lot harder than me. I know it's ok to be sad. But I also know Easton is where he is supposed to be for now. As much as I miss him, I know he is safe. I do wish I was having him this Friday like it was supposed to happen, but it didn't happen that way, and I have been learning to accept that. I am taking the day off on Friday and so is Tyler so that will be a nice day for us to be together and cry and hopefully laugh and smile as well. I know Easton is ok. I just miss him very much. See right now I am starting to cry! So I better end this.

Give me the faith to see through to tomorrow
Give me the hope that I need to survive
Please stop my heart from breaking, and my arms from aching
Erase my worry and surround it with peace
Always wondering and thinking why
What is in store for me, what will show me the way
I cry silently so no one will see my pain
I try to hide the hurt away
I can see it in my eyes I can feel it in my dreams
The world won’t stop for you while you are sad
You have to heal on your own
An open wound is hard to shut
It throbs inside your veins.
I try to hang on to what I know to be true
I am waiting
I am trying to be patient
Give me the faith to trust in the plan
That has been mapped out just for me
Give me the hope to know it will happen
I want it so much
The memories of that day flood my mind
And my vision becomes cloudy
Because the sun was gone that day
Help me be strong, and let my mind stand still
I know I cannot change the past
I know he is in a perfect place
But I am left here to wonder about him,
and miss him, oh so much
Please send me an angel, another one to love
To help my grieving heart
I am trying to do all that I should
To be worthy of that call
So please hear my prayers
And I will continue to wait
For an answer that I hope to receive
And I hope it is not too far

On Saturday Ty and I went up to the cemetery to make sure that Easton's monument had been put in the ground. I really wanted it to be in before it started to snow. It looked really good and I was very happy to see it there. I can't believe that in two weeks it will be November 9. That date is a hard date for me. I know that Easton is perfect and happy and in a better place, but sometimes I am not that strong. And I get selfish and I want him here with me, I want to hold him in my arms and be his mom right now. It is the human instinct in us, our nature to want that. And I have to tell myself that it's ok. Sometimes when I go to the grocery store, and everywhere I look there are moms about my age, with two kids, and a brand new baby, I ache. I ache because I want it so much. I have a new found respect for those women who can't bare children right now on this earth. They are so stong. I know I can't feel sorry for myself forever, and that things happen for a reason. But somedays it's so hard, because I wish I was pregnant and I wish I was having a baby in two weeks. So I thought I would share this beautiful monument with you of my perfect precious son.

On Friday the 19th we had our first annual McDermott Family Halloween party. My mom did such a good job with everything! She made us two yummy soups, minestronie and homemade potatoe and broccoli cheese soup. We had salad and rolls and homemade sugar cookies too! So good! Then she had some fun games set up for the kids. She had a " Bat Fish Pond" Where they threw over thier bat and got a prize. She had " Pin the baby spider next to the Mommy Spider" And a fun game where you tossed some squishy eye ball things though some holes and got points for how many you got through the holes. Then Aunt Bethanie did a scary room. Where she had " pretend" body parts, Kaili reached her hand in the cold peaches right off the bat, and it startled her, because I think she was expecting some candy to be in the pumpkin. Then Katie and Rylee did a cute story for the kids and a " Magic Egg" Demonstration. All in all it was a great night, and Grandma Bonnie did a FABULOUS job! Thanks Grandma!

Aren't they the cutest Batman, Spiderman and Cat Woman that you have ever seen!

Fall is the start of making good soups to eat on a cold night. Fall is driving through the mountains on a Sunday afternoon, and not having to say anything at all, because you are lost in the colors. Fall is the bright sunny days, with the crisp freshness in the air. It's stylish boots, and cute jeans, and jackets. It's earthy make up tones, and darker hair colors. It's when you finally don't feel like kicking the blankets off of you at night, but keeping them on. It's Halloween night at my moms house, eating homemade soup and breadsticks and watching Abbott and Costello movies with my dad and eating big Costco candy bars. It's Gardner Village time and making crafts. Fall is memories of High School football games and deciding what to do on Halloween night as a teenager. It's going to Grandma and DD's right after school to show them our Halloween Costumes. Fall is cooking with pumpkin and chocolate chips! Fall is vanilla candles with pumkin spice. Fall is warm and inviting.
Here is a list of my Halloween Costumes from K-6
Kindergarten- Wonder Woman
1st Grade- Princess
2nd Grade- 50's GIrl
3rd Grade-50''s Girl
4th Grade- Indian
5th Grade- Cat
