Saturday July 25

Saturday was the day Bethanie was going through the Temple. Ty was planning on going, but with Karson feeling the way he was he ended up staying home with him. However he surpised me by coming up to the Temple and waited for us to come out. We went to the Draper Temple. The view is so pretty but man is it windy up there! You can tell by the pictures!
My little sister and I! After the Temple we went to Goodwood BBQ to eat. It was very good. I had a salad, ribeye steak and mashed potatoes that Karson loved.

My honey and me. After lunch we went home and Karson took a nap and Tyler and Johnny went golfing with my parents that night to Alpine. Karson and I hung out and went to Wal-mart, and then amazingly that night Karson slept from 9:00 at night until 8:45 in the morning. It was heaven! Sunday Ty had a meeting with the Bishopric and he was put in as 2nd counselor in the Sunday School Presidency. He is nervous about the new calling, but I keep telling him that he will be fine. And there you have it!

24th of July

My mom had scheduled pedicures for Bethanie, herself, Katie and I ( Fernanda and Luke were out of town) for Friday in preperation for Bethanie's wedding. It was really nice to relax for a bit. I was SO tired from the night before with Karson being up. Rylee, Roury and Tyler played tennis on the Wii while Karson finally took a little nap.
We went back over to my parents house and just hung out for a bit. Karson was pretty sad, and cried a lot and he just didn't know what he wanted. So at around 3:00 we ate yummy hamburgers, watermelon, pineapple, canteloupe and a yummy fruit dip that Bethanie made, we had chips and dip and it was really good. Ty and I went home to try and get Karson to take a nap, he finally fell asleep at like 6:30 and slept until 8:30. So Ty and I spent the holiday night at home, watching The Ernie Davis Story The Express. It is about the first African American to win the Heisman (sp) Trophy Award. It was really good! Any way Friday night was another LONG night. Karson was so uncomfortable!

July 23 Kaili's Last T Ball Game

Thursday we headed up to Brigham City for Kaili's last game. Karson fell asleep on the way up and when he woke up he was on FIRE! I started to worry because I could tell he didn't feel good. When we got home that night we took his temp and it was 102, Thursday night Ty and I got NO sleep, Kars was up all night because he didn't feel good. At 5:30 in the morning we decided we should take him to the insta care so at 6:00 I got up to shower and we were at the insta care at about 7:45 they determined that he basically had two ear infections even with the tubes in his ears, poor little guy!
Karson exploring at the park

Kail and I waiting for her game to start.
Kaili with her gifts, from Uncle Rylee and Aunt Katie, their gift is of course the cute red one with the cute card. Tyler and me stuck our little treats for her in a pink gift sack! I was in a hurry !:)

A little preview...

One of my bestest friends Jenn is doing my hair for Bethanie's wedding. We had a practice round on Monday night and it turned out really good. Don't worry about me not having any make up or anything in these pictures. Just wanted to show you the hair! Thanks Jen, I appreciate you doing this soo much!
Yes this is the back of my hair, Jenn kept telling me that it looked like a hair piece and from seeing this picture now it kind of does. Ha ha!

Aw me and Ty. That is a picture of the dress that I will be wearing. You can't see the whole thing but it is really cute.

Weekend

Thursday night we went to Kaili's Tee Ball game and brought her home with us. Friday Tyler was only working a half day so he was able to go to lunch with us at Sweet Tomatoes.
Saturday Tyler golfed in a golf tournament with his dad and brothers at Thanksgiving Point, so Karson, Kaili and I ran to Kohls to see if we could find some black shorts or pants for Karson for Bethanie's wedding, no luck. Then we came home so Karson could take a nap and Kaili and I tried to figure out how to blow this pool up. Luckily our neighbor Lisa saved the day and we were able to get the pool filled up and working. Kaili had fun in it, even though it's pretty small. When Kars woke up I thought he would be more excited for it, but I think because the water was pretty cold, he wasn't too thrilled about it.

Towards the end he was having fun in the pool. Ty even got in and played with the kids after he got home and cleaned out the garage for a bit.

Karson loves sitting in this wagon or pushing it around. Later that night I was making cookies for my friend Danie's sons baby blessing for Sunday, the first batch I forgot to put enough flour in and they were so flat! The second batch I made it exactly as the recipe said and they were still flat! I was so frustrated I wanted to scream and cry! I had just made these cookies a week ago and they were just fine! I still don't know what went wrong. Oh well!
Sunday morning Kaili woke up not feeling well and the rest of the day went down hill. She puked all over her bed and Tyler, and had a fever of almost 102. So Sunday turned out for quite the long day. Luckily Kaili is doing much better today. We tried to keep Karson away from her so he wouldn't get sick!
So that was pretty much are weekend. Ty and I watched the movie PUSH last night, and I Liked it. I wish it would have had a better ending, but maybe they will make a sequal. Other than that I want to do something really fun on the 24th, and not sure what that will be, and I REALLY want to see Harry Potter!

Here is what has been going on in my neck of the woods....

1. Karson was sick with the stomach flu last week and it was a very long day/night and then the next day he felt a lot better so that is good.

2. I was called to jury duty again, but only for a one day trial and then the trial settled so I didn't have to end up going in, which was a huge relief.

3. I went to the OBGYN for my annual, and my Dr. told me I looked great. Which was a huge compliment to me because she is WAY strict on weight. Since she has seen me last I have lost 22 pounds, so I guess I would look different to her. Hopefully next year I will be down another 15-20 pounds or so, when she sees me.So YAY for me. At this same appointment however I was told I needed to see a spine Dr. my spint is curved and getting worse apparently. Labor with Karson really did a number on my back, so I am going to that on August 5. I am also going to ask them about my hips, because they pop about 20 times a day, and still get really sore. It's wierd sometimes when I get out of bed in the morning, I can barely walk. Not a good sign at 27.

4. I am over the Gilmore Girls. I didn't love how the season ended, so now I don't care what I missed in seasons 4-6. I will still watch it, and I still like it, just over with my excitment about it.

5. I am getting SO SO SO excited for our cruise! I can't wait! I am a little nervous and always in the back of my mind I think to myself, ok really now what if the cruise did sink? I know it won't but still it IS a thought.

6. My good friend Carly gave me a book called The Hourglass Door for my birthday. The Author is from Utah and her name is Lisa Mangum. I really liked the book, it is a fun read, kind of like a Twilight book, but much different. I suggest it for all of you book worms out there. There is a sequel coming out for it next summer.

7. I am in a cooking slump. It's to hot to cook right now. I tried to make dinner on Monday night, and I forgot I was cooking with 1 pound of meat instead of 2. Turned out a little saltier than it was supposed to,oops! The mashed potatoes were good though.

8. I am looking forward to going to Seven Peaks on the 24th of July with the fam, and Karson. He is going to love it. Going to the Draper Temple with Beth on that Saturday. Bethanie's wedding on August 1, and then getting ready for the cruise. The summer is cruising on by!

9. So far so good with no more flooding in our basement, probably since all the rain has stopped, I just hope we don't have a rainy summer next year so we can avoid all of the flooding problems all together.

10. I joined a gym by my house. I like it a lot. It makes me feel better about myself, and I feel healthier.

Oh and last but not least the foods I have been into the past couple of weeks are, Healthy Pop Kettle corn popcorn, Red vines, green grapes and those cheap blue popsicles you ate when you were a kid! yummers!

Happy Birthday Ty! Here's to your 28th year. I love you!

Celebrating Tyler's Birthday

Saturday Ty and I celebrated his birthday a day early, since there isn't much we could do it for it on Sunday. Our neighbor and her daughters watched Karson for us pretty much the whole day! It was so nice for us to have some alone time together. We started off the day with a couples massage at Massage Envy, they always go by too fast! Then we came home and showered and got ready and headed over to the Cheesecake Factory. There was no wait and we got right in. We got our favorite avacado egg roll appetizer. Ty was going to try and get something new, but he loves philly cheese steak sandwiches and he says the Cheesecake Factory's are the best. I decided to try a pasta dish and it was very good!
We got a chocolate oreo cheesecake for dessert. We could barely eat it, so we took most of it home and ate it later. After lunch we went and saw The Proposal! I loved it! I thought it was sooo funny and cute. That is for sure a movie I will need to add to my collection.

We went and picked up Karson around 4:30 and hung out at home. Sunday it was Ty's actual birthday and we went and had his favorite dinner of pork at his parents house.

Friday July 10

We went up to Easton's grave on Friday for his birthday with Karson. Karson had a fun time playing in the grass and playing with the little balloon we had brought up for Easton. It's wierd to think that two years has gone by since we lost him.

Karson wouldn't look directly at the camera, he just wanted to play. After that we went to our favorite mexican place to eat Cancun. So yummy. Karson enjoyed eating the rice, beans and cheese. When we got home I ran over to a surprise bridal shower that Bethanie's friends were throwing for her! Busy day.

Kaili T-Ball

Kaili is playing T Ball this summer. She likes to play she says except for when it gets too hot. She is pretty good, she hits the ball every time and runs fast to the bases. We'll see if this something she wants to continue next year.

Two years ago today.....

Two years ago today.................

I woke up and knew something was wrong
I was scared, very scared
Each hour that passed by the pain grew stronger
And the fear that I would lose you became more real

Two years ago today
They did many tests and couldn't figure it out
We were sent to a new hospital
The pain was too much for me to take
I was screaming and crying
And then you were born

Two years ago today
We met you, our perfect son
Our shining star, Easton
We held you in our arms, and watched you leave our presence

Everything inside me ached
My arms from being empty
My eyes from crying so many tears
My heart from losing you to soon
Time melted into days and my days into nights

Two years ago today
I wanted to scream until I couldn't sceam anymore
Sadness, anger, emptiness, sorrow and pain is what I felt

Everyday I think of you
You are not forgotten and never will be
Slowly the anger and emptiness drifted away
There is still sadness, sorrow and pain some days
But there is also happiness
Because I know this is not the end
I know we will see you again
Our Angel Easton

So Happy 2nd Birthday to you
We will love you forever

Fourth of July 2009

We weren't exactly sure what we were going to do on the Fourth or July. We decided to go to the zoo. I thought it might be really busy, but it actually wasn't, because it was kind of cloudy, and I am sure that people thought it might rain. We spent 3 hours there, and we were able to see a lot of the animals out and about. Karson was really tired, so he wasn't as excited as I hoped he would be,but it was still fun to get out.
When we first got to the zoo this peacock was out showing it's feathers off. Kaili thought it was pretty cool.

Kaili with her giant red snowcone. What is the Fourth of July with out a snowcone? It was pretty good too. After the zoo we went on a drive so the kids could fall asleep which they both did. Then we went home and I let Ty take a nap and played with the kids in the basement. Then at about 5:30 we headed over to Red Robin for dinner and met Ty's sister Megan over there. Dinner was good and then we headed back to our house and did some parachute fireworks and went on a walk. We finished up the night with some of my family watching the Riverton fireworks. It was a great weekend, and we had a lot of fun.

Friday July 3

I look forward to our McDermott July Birthday Party every year. It's lots of fun, and I enjoy spending the day with everyone. This year Friday started out with Ty taking Kaili to run some errands and letting me and Karson have a nap. Then they brought us home some Panda Express for lunch. Then we headed over to my parents house to hang out.
Papa gave Kaili & Karson rides in the wheelbarrow and they loved it!
Karson loves this swing, but in this picture he doesn't look like he is enjoying himself. He was really tired, and I think right after this we put him down for a nap! But he does love to swing.
Kaili and Keith were having a blast on this homemade water slide. I even went down it once, and it was pretty slippery.
Kaili landing on the slip n slide. Fun times!
Ty, Ry and Katie filled up a ton of water balloons and we had a lot of fun doing water balloon tosses.
Here is some of the fam lined up playing Bacci Ball ( I probably spelled that wrong) My mom gave this to my Dad for Fathers Day and all of the boys love playing it together. It's fun.

Every year it's tradition at Halloween and the Fourth of July, my mom does a little fish pond for the kids, with some little prizes. Here is Karson getting ready to get his prize.

This is the cute cake my mom ordered from Harmans with everyone's birthday age on it. We had haystacks for dinner and my parents bought all kinds of drinks for everyone. Tyler got 2 Unita Golf gift certificates one from Luke & Fernanda, one from Ry and Katie, Beth, Roury and Johnny got him an iTune gift card for his ipod. My parents gave him a gift certificate to golf 2 18 hole rounds at Thanksgiving Point ( my mom got a really good deal on a package there for him) a ball retriever thing, and this tie thing where you can organize your ties. I surprised Ty with getting him tickets to go see the BYU Vs. UNLV game in Las Vegas in October! He had no idea I was doing that for him, so it was a good surprise and he liked it a lot! We had cake and ice cream and did fireworks and got home at around 10:30. Poor Karson was so so tired, but he did really good with the fire works, he liked watching them, but didn't like the ones that made a lot of noise, he still didn't cry though. Thanks to all of my family for your nice gifts to Tyler. We had so much fun! :)

Riverton Carnival & Swimming

Thursday July 2, was of course another day of crazy weather. We had promised Kaili we would go to the carnival that night, and then at about 1:30 that day we had that crazy rain storm. Luckily the night held out for us, it was still cloudy, but we were able to go to the carnival. When we got there NO ONE was there, and I mean no one! We ate some carnival food, I got a corndog, which was actually really good. I can't remember the last time I got that. Ty got some chili nachos that were pretty gross, the chips were really stale.
Tyler saw a ride and said " that looks like fun" me being the oh so adventerous girl that I am, told him I would go with him on the ride! BLECK! I should have taken a picture of the ride, so you could get the full effect, but it made me so sick. My parents said that my face turned stark white while I was on the ride! I told Tyler I felt like I was going to throw up, luckily I didn't. But all I could think about was that scene on the Sand Lot, where they all puke! I got off that ride, and felt quite dizzy and sick, even laying in bed that night, I didn't feel too great. The next day I felt fine though, never again!

Kaili had a fun time going on some of the rides, Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Luke came and bought Kaili some extra tickets. I didn't get a picture of the big slide, but Kaili went on it with Isaac I think 4 times in a row. We ran into my cousin Tara and her son Isaac so Kaili and him were able to go on some rides together. She loved this roller coaster, it actually went pretty fast.

Earlier that day we were able to go to my friends Carly & Cole's grandparents swimming pool. The weather was really nice for awhile and then it started raining. Karson wasn't too sure about the pool at first, but he loved when I was holding him and bouncing up and down in the water. Kaili had a blast playing with all of the other little kids that were there as well! Thanks for inviting us guys! This green blanket is Karson's favorite blanket! I probably wash it 3 times a week. He takes it everywhere with him, so cute!

My friend Jenny and her baby Remington!

And I'm proud to be an American......

I am proud to be an American. I love the Fourth of July. Growing up it was always one of my favorite holidays. I was raised with a strong sense of pride for my country. Both of my Grandparents were a part of World War II. My Grandpa Isom was a mechanic for fighter jets and airplanes, and my Grandpa McDermott almost lost his life in Normandy. He has a hole in his back and no muscles in one of his legs to prove it. I have a lot of cousins whose husbands are in the military, airforce and army. I have cousins who are in the army and have served in Iraq. I have an Uncle who died while being a part of the airforce. The sacrifice they make, and the sacrifice that thier families make are beyond words. We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many who would give thier life to protect our freedoms. I don't know how they do it, but they do. Willingly they enlist to make their country proud. What fabulous men and women we are surrounded by! Thank you to all of you!

Summer means, BBQ's, swimming, fairs, good food, family, summer nights, camping, playing, laughing, Drive-in movies, vacations, tans, flip-flops, pony tails, ice cold drinks, home made ice cream, water fights, GREAT movies, fresh mowed grass, long walks and so much more. It also brings with it the 4th of July Holiday and the 24th of July!

Growing up we would have the best 4th of July parites on my McDermott side. One time at my cousins house we all slept over! And when I say we all, I mean my dad comes from a family of 9 kids so I have A LOT of cousins. We had a snow cone machine, cotton candy machine, a parade, swimming, and lots of food, treats, and fireworks! I have a picture of all of us cousins in our swimming suits marching around the Osborns flag pole in the front yard. That is one of my favorite memories from growing up. Or another year we had the party at my Grandparents house. We would line up chairs for the firework show. We ate tons and tons of PACE bars, and Push-pops! I don't think they make those anymore, but Grandma and Daddy-Daddy's basement freezer was always stocked full with them! We don't have a big 4th of July party any more, because the family has grown so big, and now my dad and his brothers and sisters are Grandparents of thier own.

Snow cones always meant the Fourth of July and fairs. I have great memories, from summer and the Fourth of July and now I just hope that I can make lasting memories for my own kids as well. There is a sense of freedom and laziness that comes with slow, quiet summer days! I hope I can have a few of those this year! ha ha! Happy Fourth of July to all!
