Karson's ear surgery

Ah yes, last Thursday night. So Karson woke up at 11:40 pm on Thursday night and I thought to myself, " this will be great, I can feed him and put him back to bed and he will sleep through the night" wrongo! He woke up at 3:30 am wanting a bottle so bad, and of course we could not give him one. We tried rocking him, we tried letting him sleep in bed with us and all he did was cry and cry and cry. It was so sad! Because we knew if we just gave him a bottle he would go back to sleep. So finally at 4:45 I took him into his room and started reading books to him, this calmed him down and we played with his toys, then at about 5:15 I let him play in the tub, because he loves this. The above picture of him was taken at about 5:45 on Friday morning.
So we headed over to the hospital at about 6:30 am and Karson fell asleep in the car, so he got about a 30 min power nap in there. We took him into the hospital and they took us back at about 7:10 everyone loved him of course, his hair is always an attention taker. He got to pick this green bear to play with while we waited in the room.

We had to put on this little hospital gown and booties. It was so sad, by this point he was soo tired, he didn't even care what was going on.

Karson just stayed like this on Ty's lap until they came to get him. Of course I cried, but it was soo fast. He was done in about 10 minutes and we had him back in about 20. He only cried a teeny bit and we gave him an 8 oz bottle and he drank it and fell asleep in Ty's arms. We had to stay for another 30 mins, cause they like to monitor the kids. When we were on our way home I thought Kars would fall asleep in the car, nope. We got home around 9:20 I thought he would be asleep by 10:00, nope, 11:00 nope, finally at 11:30 I got him to sleep so I could take a nap too, I was wiped out! He slept until 1:00 and then I brought him back in bed with me and he slept until 2. He was pretty good the whole day only pulling at his ears a few times.

Here he is playing away in our bedroom. I think the anesthesia (spelling) messed up his sleeping habits though, because we have been having the hardest time getting him down for naps since Friday. We are hoping this will solve the problems of all his ear infections. We are going to the Dr. on Thursday to make sure all is well!

His hair really is awesome! He looks so cute in that little teeny robe. What a trooper.

Karson is a trooper! He looks very cute in the hospital gown, and his hair - wow! He looks so much older than what he is, and I love all his smiles, he sure is a handsome little man.
I'm glad the surgery was so quick, hopefully it helps. I have never had to deal with ear infections (other than my own when I was four), but I can tell from your experiences it is hard on everyone, but saddest for the babies. We'll pray this surgery means an end of all ear infections!

He looks so small in his little robe. so sweet. I can't believe how grown up he is. Almost one! I hope that this makes all the difference with his ears. Poor little man.

That is so sad that he even had to have that done at such a young age...
I hope it all works out in the end.
Sorry about your lack of sleep that day, that's always hard.

answering your question: we have a drift boat. its a fishing boat that doesn't have a motor so you have to row it. I'm just happy sam rows it and i don't have to! Its pretty fun and the kids love it!
