My drive into work this morning.....

This morning it was raining as I was driving Karson over to Grandpa Larry's to get watched for the day. I was feeling bad because Karson kept telling me he wanted to be with me, and telling me he wanted to go home. It's tough on mornings like this when he says these things, because I feel bad for leaving him. I know once I am gone, he has a good day with whoever he is with, but as a mom, it still leaves a little pang in my chest at times. I didn't sleep well last night either, and it has been a fun, busy, and tiring weekend. This pregnancy has been harder on me emotionally for some reason than my other ones, and it is really hard for me because I am usually so in control of everything, this time I feel so out of whack.....anyway....

I was flipping through the radio stations and stopped on 97.1 zht. They were talking about thier secret santa program they do every year. They had a listener in thier studo named Todd, and he read his letter that he had wrote into them about who he wanted to give some Christmas help too. It was his sister-in-law Crystal. Todd's brother that she was married to, passed away a few years ago due to a heart condition. Shortly after her husband's death, her little boy Skyler started having lots of problems. He now has leukemia, along with many other things. She is a widow, who basically lives up at Primary Children's to take care of her son. I of course started crying listening to this story, and then they called Crystal up at Primary's and put her on the phone and Todd read her, the letter he wrote. They gave her some money, and gifts for both Skyler and herself. They said her blog address on the air, and so when I got into work, I couldn't help but go and check it out. It was heartbreaking to read her posts and see her son hooked up to so many things. It of course makes me think of my nephew Kyle and everything he has been through as well. Chronically sick kids just breaks my heart every time. Her blog was inspiring to me though, because even through all the pain, and the heartbreak, she tries to think of the positive things, and be uplifting.

Even when I feel my life isn't going exactly how I want it to, stories like these help me to put my life into perspective and realize all the blessings that I do have. I have so much admiration for parents who have children who have cancer, or any other sickness. They are so strong. They truly are. I realize we all have different trials we deal with, throughout our lives, but I truly hold a special place in my heart for all those children out there who suffer with long term illness and thier parents who fight for them with every ounce that they have left in them. I know there are SO many stories similar to this one....whenever I am asked to donate to Primary Children's I always say yes, because I instantly think of Kyle...as well as all those other kids who receive care there.

This is Crystals blog address http://crystalandskyler.blogspot.com if you are interested in looking at her blog.

I love Christmas. I love everything about it, but one of the things I love the MOST is how every year at Christmas time people come together, to help, to give comfort, to do anything they can to help those who are less fortunate then themselves.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
