I often feel like this woman in the picture. I can always be seen holding a million things in my hands. My day planner is always in my purse, my calendar at work is scribbled on and the days are filled with writings. I know that you all feel like this at times too. Whether we are full time stay at home mom's, full time career women, or a half and half as I like to call myself! :)I am always looking at people's blogs and I get jealous. Jealous of all the great idea's that people do for thier kids, all the job charts, and activities, and crafts. I feel like I am so far behind that curve. I want to do more things like that with Kaili. It's harder with Kaili because when we do have her we are always going, going, going trying to make sure everyone has some time with her.
I have books on Halloween treat crafts and Christmas treat crafts, and I didn't do one thing from either of them this year. I am determined to make Valentines Sugar cookies with Kaili and let her pick out some valentines so we can make some Valentines this year. I want to do a job chart for her and a rewards jar, and a naughty jar, and I want to incorporate all of these things with Karson as he gets older too.
I want to be a good mom, and I want all of my kids to remember that I took the time to do fun, creative things with them. I want them to remember that we did, fun and new things. I want to take them new and educational places. I feel like I don't have a lot of time to do all that I want, I make lists, I try to keep my time organized. But I still feel like I never do all that I want to do. I want to make new desserts I have never made before, I want to cook new things for dinner. I wamt to get my scrapbooking done, I want to be crafty and keep things neat.
Oh well I guess I have my whole life to try and be better at all of this Home Making Stuff. I just want to make sure my kids get everything that I did growing up and I want them to feel like I was there for them and made good memories with them! So here's to all of us Home Makers and beyond....all we can do is try, try, try and try some more! :)

it's always easy to think the grass looks greener on the other side and to be hard on ourselves.
but your kids are healthy and happy so you're doing great :)
I feel this way too. I mean, I have those things with Abi but there are days when we forget to do something from them or maybe we do all that perfectly but dinner is frozen corn dogs and the dishes are piled up in the sink...
I think we all hold ourselves up to these expectations of what we should be and/or want to be and it just isn't possible to be perfect all the time at everything. I have had to come to terms with this over the past few months. Now I just have to do what I can and try to throw in the extras whenever possible!
Thanks for that!!! I think all moms need to remember that non of us are what I like to tell my kids....I'm not supermom :)
Hi BreeAnn. I just had to leave you a comment and tell you how much I love reading your blog. We don't know each other, but I remember you from high school. Well I ran across your blog one day and I think you are such a cute mom and I love the posts after The Bachelor. Sorry for the blog stalking, but hey its not private so I kept reading. ;) Hope it's okay that I keep reading.
From a fellow "half and half" I can totally empathize with you. Growing up I had my idea of what kind of mom I would be and I have to say that it has not turned out exactly how I thought it would. One of those things that didn't turn out exactly how I thought it would is being a working mom. But another one of those things that surprised me is loving my son so unconditionally from the instant he was here. And I know you feel the same way. We may not be perfect mothers but we are the mothers that God chose for our children and that is saying something. Don't try to implement all the wonderful ideas you have all at once. Do it little by little so you don't get overwhelmed. When all is said and done, your children will remember time spent with you whether it's putting stickers on progress charts or talking about the day during the long car ride to pick up Kaili.
Ok, I love this post... I am not a mother yet, but I still feel like a bad wife a lot. I get home from work and get tired and we end up eating pasta roni or something quick and easy for dinner a lot. I always feel like I should have some great meal for Ry when he gets home, but that doesn't happen very often. It's hard when I don't get home until like 6 every day...
I better get it together now since it will just get busier and busier as little ones come someday!
