Happy Fathers Day Ty!

So Since this weekend is Fathers Day I wanted to post a little something about Tyler. He might get embarressed but oh well, that is what blogs are for right? :) Tyler is a great dad. No, he is a fabulous dad. He and Kaili have an undeniable bond. He is so strong. I don't know how he does it sometimes, but he does. He is responsible, and loving and caring, and trys to do all that he can to teach Kaili and help her to become a good person. After he and his ex-wife split up and he would get Kaili on weekends, he would bathe her and comb her hair and dress her and change her diapers and feed her, and put her to bed. She would sleep on his chest. She was only 13 months old at the time. He had the help of his family, but still he was mostly on his own.

I remember a couple of times, when we first started hanging out when he had to give Kaili back to his ex-wife and even at that young of an age, she would scream and cry and reach out to her dad. Talk about pulling your heart out and feeling like someone is stomping on it. It would KILL me to see that, and it would kill Tyler even more. It makes me cry just thinking about it. But somehow, someway he would deal with it. He is one of the strongest people that I know. He and Kaili have developed a wonderful relationship and even though he isn't with her every day, she knows how much her Dad loves her, and this a gift she will always have.

When Easton passed away I know Tyler was trying so hard to be strong for me, because I was a mess, but I also know that he lost his son as well. I know Tyler will do everything in his power to live the way he should so he can see his son again.

I can't wait to see him be a father to this child, I know he will be great and I know I will be able to learn a lot from him. I am so proud of the man that Tyler is and the strength that he has in dealing with what has come his way through out his life. I wrote this poem about Tyler and I wanted to put it on here, it is kind of personal, but I thought what the heck, it's for Fathers Day!

In her daddies deep blue eyes
There is sadness to his joy
In his daddies heart
There is a piece that will always ache for him
In his daddies hands
There is a place for this one to be held

In her husbands soul
She knows his pain
And there is nothing she can do to fix it

He goes on every day and does what needs to be done
But nothing can change the fact
That every day, he can’t see his first born, his little one

She lights up his face, and has a hold of his heart
He has accepted the path that his life has taken
And he is happy, but she is always on his mind
Is she ok? Is she smiling? Does she know how much he loves her?

His second child, his first son,
He often thinks the same,
Does he know how much he is loved?
And how much his dad misses him?

The answer to these questions
That is often sad to ask
Is yes.

They know it in the way he prays for them each day
She knows it in the way he reads her stories, and plays Old Maid
She knows it in the way he hugs her very tight
She knows it in the way he dreams of her each and every night.
He knows it in the way that his dad will live his life
To make sure that when his time down here is through
He will be able to see him, his precious perfect son

His wife knows the strength it takes
To sometimes make it through a day
For this man to swallow his pride
And let someone else help him raise his little girl along the way
It is a sacrifice but he wants what is best for her
And many years down the road, she will thank her daddy for that.

On her daddies tear stained face
There are tears of joy
Because although he cannot see her all the time
They have a bond that can’t be broke
On his daddies bruised but healing heart
There is hope, knowledge of forever
And for this new one, a blessing from afar
He can’t wait to meet his dad
And feel his loving arms

So to this man, who has dealt with much
Who is a survivor of it all
We want to say we all love you
And thank you for loving us too

YAY Roury is home!

So yesterday my little brother Roury returned home from his mission in Chili! It was soo good to see him! He was tired and worn out and a little overwhelmed but still his same old self. His plane got in at about 12:50 and we were out of the airport pretty quick. He wanted to go to Carls Jr for lunch and so that is what we did. Then we went back to my mom and dads and he opened up some belated Christmas and birthday presesnts. He was pacing back and forth in the house trying to figure out what to do. He ended up getting a really bad headache, I think just from all the excitement and lack of sleep. Today he is going golfing and all he wanted at home was some Mountain Dew and Krispie Kreme doughnuts which my mom had ready for him. :) We were at my parents house until 10:30 at night talking and hanging out and watching the Celtics beat the Lakers ( my brother Rylee almost had a heart attack, he is an avid Celtics fan) and playing Rock Band. Tyler is now OBSESSED with this game and pretty dang good at it, I might add. On the guitar any way, he doesn't love the drums.

Here is a sign that my mom made for my little brother. We held it up as he come down the stairs. I am so proud of him and for all that he has accomplished these past two years, it is good to have his quiet sense of humor back.I love you Roury!

McDermott Baby Shower......I got spoiled

This Saturday was my McDermott Family Baby shower ( my Dads side of the family) I was overwhelmed by the love and support of my family and some of my friends that came to this shower. Everyone gave me such nice and thoughful gifts and helped out in one way or another with the shower! The food was great, they had 4 different salads, with breadsticks and strawberry shortcake for dessert ( one of my favorites) there were cute, blue, yellow and white ballons everywhere, with a cute stuffed donkey and dog that I got to take home with me.
As you can see I got some amazing things, that will really help Tyler and I out. I got bottles, clothes, blankets, a play yard, bobby pillow and slip cover, baby monitor, a miniature baby swing, toys, books, baby dishes, changing pad and covers, special laundry detergent, special little high chair that you can hook to chairs up to the table, a really nice baby thermometer, crib sheet, bibs, grocery cart seat thing for your baby, it's really cool, but hard to explain!

A safety kit with all the baby essentials, milk containers to store milk, so many wonderful gifts! It was so nice and I appreciate all the gifts and thoughtfulness of everyone that came, thank you SO much in sharing in our excitement of our upcoming arrival, it is getting so close!

A special THANK YOU to my cousin Amber who organized the shower and to all of my MCD Aunts that helped out with the food and decorations and what not. I appreciate it very much!

My cousin Marie had her 2nd baby girl on Sunday at about 9:15 am, she weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and is 21 inches long. She has the cutest strawberry blonde hair. Tyler and I went up to the hospital and visited with Marie and her husband for about an hour and a half yesterday. Marie is a trooper, this is her 2nd natural child birth! Wow! She had been up since midnight Saturday night and was still awake at about 4:45 when Ty and I got there. Her little baby is so precious, and it makes me SO excited to meet my little guy. Her actual original due date was on June 25th, so she was about 2 and a half weeks early and the baby is healthy and strong. Marie and I have been very close our whole lives, we are only two and a half weeks apart ourselves and although life is so busy we have remained close friends! Congrats Marie!

Baby Update

Well I had my 34 week and a half check up yesterday, and after waiting ONE hour and FORTY FIVE minutes to see the Dr, all is well. My appointment was at 12:10 I got there at 11:55 and I did not see the Dr. until about 1:45, I had not eaten lunch so I was STARVING and getting more and more upset by the minute. She was just running behind that day, but it would have been nice if someone could have told me that. I was so hungry I wanted to cry! So the good news is I only gained 1 pound. For the past 6 weeks I have been maintaining my weight very well and I am very proud of myself that I am not letting myself go during these last couple of weeks! I am starting to swell a little bit with water weight though, I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring for a couple of weeks. The babies heart beat was good, and he is growing very well and I can tell because he is running out of room inside my belly. It is very hard for me to sit and work at my desk all day, because of all the pressure inside. Once agian it is ALL worth it, but that is the update for now.
My next appointment will be on June 19 where they will do the strep culture, then I go in on June 26 (37 weeks) and July 3 (38 weeks) and then we didn't schedule another apppointment because that next week is when I will most likely be having the baby! Wow! I can't believe it is almost here, it seems like I waited forever, but now that it is upon me, I am getting a little nervous, about delivery, about wondering if I will be able to tell what he needs, about breast feeding, about pumping when I have to go back to work and the new schedule that we will have. I am sure everything will work out, but it is a lot to take in.
I have a baby shower tomorrow and I am SO excited! My cousin Amber has worked really hard on this and all of my McDermott aunts, and I feel so lucky and blessed to have them as part of my family, so in advance, thanks ladie! I am sure I will have lots of things to post on Monday from over the weekend! Tyler gets to golf in a golf tournament tomorrow whiel I am at the shower, so he is feeling quite happy!

Clumsy....Silly....Me

So I have always been pretty clumsy, at work I am always running into things or wacking my hand against the wall. At home I am stubbing my toes, falling up or down the stairs, and walking into things. Well being pregnant hasn't helped that trait of mine much. I am always spilling on my belly and walking into things, Tyler thinks this is all very funny, that I am so clumsy. Any way today I decided I needed a break from the frozen lean cuisine meals that I usually eat at work and I went to Zupa's to get thier half BBQ chicken salad, ( so yummy ) and 1/2 cup of the Cauliflower Cheese soup ( also yummy ) and since it has been pouring rain today I knew the floor would be slippery. I very slowly walked into Zupa's wiped my feet on the rug and began to walk in, well my first step off the rug slipped on the floor and my left knee/leg went down hitting against the hard floor (owch!) and then my right leg went forward and my hand that was holding my keys slammed against the floor. Yes this wasn't embarressing at all! ha! So there were two Zupa workers eating at a booth and they both jumped up and helped me up and asked if I was ok. I told them yes, and all the while I was trying with all of my might to not let the tears fall! I am ok, and the baby is fine. He has been moving around to assure me all is well with him, I didn't hit my belly at all, it is just my left leg and knee that won't be feeling so well. Oh well could be worse right! Luckily there weren't too many people there yet, because it was quite the show!

34 weeks and counting.....

Well I don't really have any exciting pictures or news to share, but I thought I would write about some things. This is my 34th week of being pregnant! I am very excited to be in the final weeks of pregnancy, because it really is getting uncomfortable, I know it is worth it, but I am ready to meet him. I am of course stressing and planning and making lists upon lists to keep my mind in focus, I have Fathers Day and Tyler's birthday coming up to plan for, and my little brother Roury is coming home from his mission on Thursday June 12!!!! Woo! Hoo! I am SO excited to see him and hang out with him again. Roury and I are a lot alike in some ways and we have always had a great relationship! I have missed him and can't wait to have him back!

This weekend wasn't too eventful we had a good time hanging out with Kaili, a couple funny things she said this weekend were: " Mama your belly looks like a big mountain" uh...thanks! :) And " I want to watch Rudolph" and we watched it, she wouldn't drop it she REALLY wanted to watch Rudolph, so we did. We went to the park on Saturday with Tyler's parents and had lunch and she got to play and swing (swings are her favorite) for a couple of hours. Saturday night we had a mini BBQ with just the 3 of us, I was craving good old fashioned hamburgers and we had watermelon and corn on the cob, it was good, and Ty is becoming a pro at the grill. All in all it was a pretty low key weekend oh and on Saturday morning we got some cleaning done upstairs, Ty was a big help and I appreciated it a lot, I love when everything looks fresh and clean!
