Running, Running, Run......

So since January 4, I have been going to the gym/working out at home at least 5 days a week. Most of the time I can't do it until 9:00 at night when Ty is home and Karson is sound asleep in bed. I am tired, my body aches, and most of the time I just want to go to sleep. But I don't, I put on my work out clothes, go out into the freezing cold, and work out.

I can tell I am losing inches, my clothes fit better, I feel healthier, and even though I am tired, I have more energy, wierd how that works eh? I have never liked to run for a long period of time, I am more of an aerobics, taebo, step work out girl. But lately I have been pushing myself to run at the gym.

This week I pushed the obstacle of running straight for ONE MILE, I did this and it was HARD, and I wanted to stop, but I didn't. Now did I run this mile very fast? mmm not really, but my speeds did range from 4.5 to 6.0 which is good enough for me. I may never run a marathon but for now my goal is to run 3 miles in 30 minutes. I may not get there for a couple of months, but I found something in myself that I have been missing for awhile, I used to be the girl who would do just 2 more minutes or one more set, I like being able to push myself and seeing results.

I don't know how much weight I have truly lost because I haven't weighed myself for awhile. I am scared of the scale,I am scared of it telling me I didn't lose that much when I feel like I did. So it will wait for now, and when I am ready I will step on my white squared friend and seewhat she says.

I am the girl that no matter what through out my whole life I will have to work out, no exceptions, if I want to maintain weight, I can't not work out, because the weight just comes back. One day I would like a treadmill at my house, then I won't ever have to worry about not being able to work out, it always be there for me, to remain focused, healthy and happy.

So even though I know I will never be an amazing runner like so many people I know, for now it's nice to know that for me running isn't so bad, and once I get in the zone, I can feel myself going a little further, a little faster, and a little better each day!

i like to do that too, like i'll think just to the next tree'' or one more song...
and scales are lame anyway, it's all about how you feel and how your clothes fit :)

You are my hero! And DON'T get on your scale. Just enjoy feeling great and having your clothes fit great. I REFUSE to have a scale in my house because I used to be obsessed with it. FYI, I got my treadmill off KSL.com for about $50. yeah, it's used, but people hardly use their treadmills before they sell them.

I had this same goal last summer. I would run outside pushing Sophie in the stroller. Other times I would run at the gym, but like you, I couldn't ever go until late (usually around 10pm) so I have kind of slacked off with that. I got really good though and even ran 2 5k's. I was really proud of myself, my goal was to run/jog the entire time and I did it. Good luck to you. If you want to run a 5k, let me know and maybe we can run together.
